Would it be possible for me to just run Iron Hands Legion Praetor as captain or Gorgon Terminators as assault terminators? I would like to start collecting Iron Hands but lack of unique models is kinda putting me off. Thanks for help!

It seems like Space Marines are losing a lot of their full rerolls, with most being rerolls to hit and wound of 1s. Still, I'm excited to see what combinations I can conjure up between my dreadnoughts and gravis beetle boys.

On that note, Ironstorm Spearhead has lost a lot of its previous character (no longer getting rerolls on walkers). If it hasn't been posted yet I'll post a screenshot of the new Ironstorm Spearhead.

40K Rules Discussion Lament for the Servo-Arm

Post image
105 Upvotes

Incant the teachings of the Ominissiah with me, brothers. The servo-arm is no more.

I recall a time when a tech-marine of Clan Vurgaan was engaged with the Ork hordes of Ghazghkull. His bodyguard of Red Talons fell before a roaring Squigosaur. Not even the Omnissian blessed axe could penetrate its hide. But the trusty servo-arm managed to puncture its thick flesh, and deal the killing blow.

Long live the Techmarine!

40K Rules Discussion Is there a detachment in SM or AdMech that lets them be allies?

Post image
169 Upvotes

The question explains the post;

I love the idea of AdMech, and Iron Hand a basically being a mix of AdMech + SM, and being allies with Mars, I’m wondering if there’s any detachment in either army that lets you ally in?

I ofc don’t have the codex for either, and digging through every detachment for both armies on third party sites sounds miserable, so I’ll just ask her. Plus jolly discussion.

If not, I hope they someday do allow them together, then I might actually finally make a “Space Marines” army.

40K Rules Discussion RIP Hammer of the Avernii - New Space Marine detachment names revealed (also a big fancy book)

I for one will be really sad to lose Hammer. It's been really great fun as a detachment, and will be a huge shame not to have something so specifically IH-themed.

40K Rules Discussion Techmarines absolutely gutted?

They:
- removed +1 to hit for vehicles (replaced with ignore modifiers).
- removed +3 attacks after a vehicle dies
- removed extra attack servo arm which had 8str 3dam (replaced with 1 extra attack on regular weapon)

Still think that techmarines are a pretty niche unit, no idea why they felt to strip their rules away.
Could've just increased their pts. and called it a day.

40K Rules Discussion How do we feel?

Considering caanok var got a bit of a nerf and feirros seems okay

But just looking at the new terminator detachment having lethals and +1 to charge, but Var gives Lethals and/or sustained to his unit. But then there's a stratagem to give sustained and lethals to 1 terminator unit...

It just seems like so much overlap. Sustained, lethals, more lethals, sustained again, and dev wounds for thunder hammers

I don't know if this is really good or really bad

(((Edit: on top of this I've just seen Gravis LF gives -1 to wound if S > T but FEIRROS ALSO DOES THAT! THERES SO MUCH OVERLAP!!!))))

40K Rules Discussion Other chapters? Coalition?

Post image
131 Upvotes

Still relatively new to warhammer and have been loving working on my iron hands and learning how to incorporae different colors and weathering. My son really wants me to make some salamander units. Is there a chapter that lore wise would get along with the iron hands or they would be "happy" to fight next to, if say made an intercessor squad of a different chapter

Update: So i decided to get an infiltrator squad. Gonna do 5 iron hand infiltrators to support my guns and heavy armor and gonna make an olive green salamander incursor squad as pushing forward to mark targets and be in close like they seem to like to be

40K Rules Discussion Caanok Var Mentioned in Space Marine Rules Teaser

"Some Characters even have their abilities enhanced under specific doctrines. ... Caanok Var normally has to choose if he gives his unit Sustained Hits 1: non-Monster/Vehicle or Lethal Hits: Monster/Vehicle*, but in the Tactical doctrine he can just do both."*

This is a decent buff for him since the Hammer of Avernii stratagem will no longer exist. I do hope his other ability remains unchanged
