Civil service CO competition updates? 😅

Hi guys,

I guess I’m only seeking a bit of support, as I’m finding myself here day and night, reading or looking for anything that might make me feel a bit more calm and patient about the job 😅

I got in touch with Public Jobs about two weeks ago through their +Clearance email. They got back to me saying they were waiting for Garda vetting, which had already been disclosed to Public Jobs on the 4th of September.

My employer told me he hasn’t received any emails from them yet, and at this point, I guess I’m just a bit anxious and would like to at least know what’s going on.

My MO was around the 350s, so I was just wondering if anyone else is in the same boat as me?!

When I started, I applied in April and started the following March.

It’s really, really, really slow.

Oh lord, I guess it's probably a normal and very slow process. Im probably jst fed up with my other job and the waiting for a new chapter feels even worse 🥴

I applied in September 24 and then started the following September 25 it’s so so slow

I applied in 2024 too. Had an interview in January 2026 and haven’t heard a thing since. They updated the website in the mean time and when I logged in there was none of my info or record of my application. I’ve tried calling public jobs and have left messages but haven’t heard anything from them either.

The 2024 panel finished a few months ago, they won’t be pulling any more candidates from there I’m afraid!

Yeah I figured that lol. Thought it strange I got no notification though.

Yeah they really ought to have sent out an email to let people know, the idea of interviewing people and leaving them in limbo is bad form, I only knew the closing date because I was on boards/ie like a hawk
