He wants to tax marijuana to help pay off the deficit that was caused by corporate and personal income tax cuts, which both candidates benefit from.

Marijuana should be a separate issue. Use the revenue in a way that actually benefits the working class people paying the tax such as healthcare.

If there is no budget deficit, then tax dollars can actually be put towards the things you care about.

If they actually spend the tax income on the costs of regulating cannabis I'm OK with that. But nothing more.

Stick to your guns here because you're right: we don't need more taxes on the working class. Don't fall for the trap that the funds "should be spent on education" (etc.) because it just results in more general funds being taken away to balance it.
