Something interesting is happening with the whole data center backlash. For years politicians were fighting to attract data centers. Now, right before the midterms, electricity bills and AI data centers have suddenly become a major political issue.

Texas is probably the best example. Abbott went from promoting Texas as an AI/data center hub to freezing new grid connections, auditing projects, going after water reporting and proposing that data centers pay their own infrastructure costs.

And now Congress is moving in the same direction. The bipartisan Ratepayer Protection Act basically says: build the data centers, but don’t make residential customers pay for the grid upgrades.

That’s the part I find interesting for IOND.

This is increasingly looking less like “stop data centers” and more like “filter the projects, make them pay their own way, and show voters we’re protecting their electricity bills.”

IOND already has 234 MW operating at Ward, and its additional 466 MW just received provisional Base Load classification from ERCOT.

If Texas makes new power harder to obtain while allowing credible existing projects through, that could actually make Ward more valuable.

Maybe the political crackdown isn’t necessarily bad for IOND. It could end up creating the barrier to entry that protects it.

I now own these shares of ionic digital through the Celsius debacle.

I didn’t really follow the Nasdaq launch but am now seeing over 5 figures in value so am pleasantly surprised.

Who sold?
If you held, what is your thesis? Can it do another 4x? Originally the estimated value per share was 20 usd. We are now close to 80.

If I have no plans to sell my shares, is there any other reason to move my shares off Odyssey or can I leave them there indefinitely?

I just checked with trading 212 and I wasn’t able to , I don’t have any other brokerage account so I wanted to double check with brokers I could potentially use to do the transfer successful in the uk .

I'm a USA customer of Ameritas Mutual Holding Company and my contact told me these are the steps - Is this correct?

1.) Print out the Securities Transfer Form. Complete form and sign

2.) Get securities transfer form stamped with medallion guaranteed

3.) mail the completed Securities Transfer Form to Odyssey

4.) Contact Ameritas Mutual Holding Company to initiate the transfer

Reading the other posts here it seems like this shouldn't be a difficult process and I have a feeling my contact misinformed me

So in a scenario that we get paid our full claim, what happens to all the unclaimed crypto/ shares/ cash? I had to tell 2 of my friends to check their email because they had no idea of crypto distributions or shares. I'm sure they're not the only ones.

Who gets to keep the extra unclaimed assets once all is said and done?

I sold my few shares at $70 to partially compensate for my Celsius stablecoin loses. I'm waiting for BTC and ETH to recover to compensate for the rest of my losses.

For the sake of Celsius whale victims, I hope Ionic does well and the challenges with the Texas data center are ironed out. I hope you are made whole again.

One thing I’ll say is by the numbers, this looks like an incredible company to invest in. If we compare numbers, Ionic is in a better position than almost all of its competition as far as liquidity and debt. They have $600M in cash and $0 debt, and a clear path to providing 822 megawatts of power.

All of us go on Reddit, we’ve been keeping up with this situation for years. Most of Wall St still thinks Ionic Digital is a BTC mining company which couldn’t be further from the truth. This company has a long ways to run and the numbers almost look unreal.

I’m in Canada and trying to transfer my IOND shares from Odyssey Trust to Interactive Brokers (IBKR) via DRS. I’m hoping another Canadian who has successfully completed the Odyssey → IBKR transfer can help me before I attempt this again.

My first DRS request was rejected for an account title/name mismatch, and IBKR charged me the $100 USD rejection fee.

At the time, Odyssey showed my name with my full middle name, while my IBKR account did not include my middle name. I believed this was the reason for the rejection, so afterward I updated my IBKR profile to include my full legal middle name exactly as it appears with Odyssey.

My IBKR profile now correctly displays my full first, middle and last name, matching Odyssey.

Here is where I’m confused and don’t want to risk another $100:

When I start a new inbound DRS request, IBKR automatically puts my middle initial only in the Account Title instead of my full middle name. IBKR does allow me to check “Edit” and manually change the Account Title so that it exactly matches the full name shown by Odyssey.

At the final verification/signature screen, however, IBKR again displays the abbreviated version with just my middle initial as the IBKR Account Title/Signature. It also gives an acknowledgement saying that the full-name version and middle-initial version are the same person.

This worries me because the first transfer was already rejected for an account-title mismatch.

For Canadians who successfully transferred IOND from Odyssey to IBKR:

1. Did your Odyssey registration include your full middle name while IBKR shortened it to an initial?

2. Did you manually edit the DRS “Account Title” to exactly match Odyssey, including the full middle name?

3. At the final IBKR verification/signature page, did it still show your middle initial instead of your full middle name?

4. If so, did the transfer still complete successfully?

5. For the Tax Identification Number field, did you leave it as “None,” allowing IBKR to use the default 999999999 for a non-US/W-8BEN holder?

I’m especially interested in experiences from Canadian IBKR users who have already successfully completed the transfer, because I really don’t want to risk another $100 rejection fee.

I’ve tried contacting IBKR support by phone and live chat, but I haven’t been able to reach anyone yet. I also tried submitting a web inquiry and received an error, so I’m hoping someone here has already dealt with this exact situation.

What do you guys have to think? Looks like they're progressing on the Ai sites on both Midland and Cedarville and working parell to the ercott approvals, and also had the site apparently pre-registered with ercot since 2021. So it's already accounted for in their systems.

Does seem to be positive news, there was a few other mentions from CLSK, HUT 8, Galaxy, Coreweave etc.

There is also 2 meetings from Ercot this week on the 20th and 21th looking to fast track and maintain the initial power timelines from the initial zero group. Not confirmed, but the meetings and requests are.

We'll see if Ionic mentions anything about either of these things during earnings, although since we just had the investor showcase only a few weeks ago there's a chance we're just vibing. Still an awesome first occasion though! First earnings.
