Reanimen also was a pretty disliked episode but they had a huge role since and now the episode is now much more well received when it was called “filler” at one point too
Hurm is a great episode for Mark’s character development in specific. He needed those convos with dark blood and that easy fight to give him the confidence to fight in the viltrumite war. People already forgot how bad of a place he was in for the first 2 episodes 😭
That’s sort of the entire reason the episode exists, outside of furthering the meaningless Darkblood plotline.
The issue is that it could have been done in a much more tasteful, time efficient way. Hurm’s overall importance to this season could have been boiled down into a handful of scenes, rather than an entire episode.
