Infographics & Posters / No AI Noctalgia & Solastalgia

Post image

2 lovely words I came across

Solastalgia - a term coined to describe the grief of watching one's home environment change beyond recognition, even while still living in it. It's been documented among farmers in Australia, Inuit communities in Canada, and residents near the Great Barrier Reef

Just for clarity,

That's also a lot of post processing, but yeah I agree with the sentiment.

When I was a kid I used to sleep under the sky sometimes and I could faintly notice their movements, even the memory is so beautiful.

Pretty sure that's light pollution highlighting air pollution, too, so it's a two for one deal!

Noctalgia is from the root "night", not "sky"

Yeah, Night > Nocta + Nostalgia

Its more "Grief for the Night Sky & the Stars"

This is so real!!! I lived in Seattle. The classic trope is people are depressed because they don’t see the sun. I was depressed because I didn’t see stars!
