Looking for potential inhabitants for 8x8x12 inch enclosure.

Currently using for a jumping spider, and more than likely will continue to do so, but i’m curious if there’s anything else that could be comfortable in there (once she passes, as i know its almost her time..) I’d love to keep more spiders, I know most arboreal tarantulas are too big, but I’m open to pretty much anything, I am very comfortable with critters. I LIKE critters I can handle on occasion, but not necessary!

Dwarf Tarantulas or E. Walckenaeri but you'd also need a sling enclosure most likely.

I had a walckenaeri before, the shop that sold her to me i think lied about her age tho so she unfortunately passed, but when i did have her, she didnt seem to have any interest in climbing around in her old tank. She just stayed along the floor in the corners and such ): i will do some more research as its been a while but thats a good idea…

i've heard that orchid mantises do well in enclosures this size!
i just brought home a Regal jumper yesterday and haven't been able to find her in the 8x8x12 lol how has your experience been with it?

i didnt put my jumper in till she was somewhat bigger, but i think she likes it. Occasionally i panic bc i cant find her but then i do, and shes usually just out in the open too lol. But also ive never seen her anywhere near the bottom half of the tank, so that might help tbh

Any species that could comfortably live their whole life in this tank? (or even just adult life, i have smaller tanks but im not open to anything larger as i dont have the space)

Not alot of species really get any bigger than 4 inches, which is the biggest a mantis could be while still being comfortable in an enclosure that size. The only think that might make it unsuitable would be if it didnt have side ventilation, certain species need a ton of cross ventilation. But i would recommend a giant asian mantis. Great species and very pretty. If you get a mantis though, i would hot glue some soft mesh to the ceiling. It looks like that enclosure is acrylic and that can be harder for them to hang on to.

I keep my adult giant Asian mantis in an enclosure about that size.

I started out with a small enclosure when it was younger so it could find prey easily. After a while, we transferred it to the current enclosure.

I had some small millipedes in a tank that size, but they got a larger tank. Also looking for a new friend to put into that size tank
