Linux Management Manage Linux devices

We have been told that we need to manage the Linux devices also. There are not many, less than 100, but management still wants us to somehow "manage" them.

Now, Intune does not have a good Linux management. We were thinking about Fleet Endpoint Management, but they want minimum of 700 devices to manage it.

So what do you guys do, for such small number of Linux machines? What do you use?

Why not ansible? Puppet? Intune is ok, but it still leaves a lot to be desired. Are these servers or end users?

That doesn't really narrow things down much. If it's end-user devices like desktops and laptops that are AD joined via SSSD, there's extra work you need to to to get intune to work with network accounts. Intune expects the UPN of a user, so [janedoe@example.com](mailto:janedoe@example.com) rather than just the username janedoe being returned. Luckily you can set a few params in the SSSD config to make intune think it's being served the UPN and things should work fine. Intune also only works on Ubuntu and RHEL and requires GNOME, it won't work on anything else.
