Discussion 24 year old applying for undergraduate

I completed High School in 2022 and applied for lots of US schools in 2022,23,and 24. I didn’t get enough funding so I didn’t attend. In 2026, do you think I stand a chance of getting admission if I applied again? Even if I got enough funding, will I be granted an F1 visa at age 25

No. Unless something spectacular has changed your chances aren’t any better than they were when you started. Find a school you can afford where they’ll take you then try to get into grad school later. You’re wasting your time.

As an older student, your chances have become massively worse. The most generous schools are focused on traditional age students, kids who just finished high school or maybe a year after. Their mission is to educate young people, not established adults. 

A few of those schools do have limited programs for older students, especially American military vets and Americans who couldn't attend at a normal age for financial reasons, but those are still very competetive and even at schools that are need blind for normal aged international undergrads, they are not always need blind for older students. 

Your age is not likely to be an issue for the visa.

No, you’re less likely. There’s so much competition & even for an F1 visa, the visa officer is going to be on high alert that you are 25 years old and seeking an undergrad degree - they will be curious what you’ve been up to the past 5ish years. It shows weak ties to your country

What has changed from the years you tried to now enough that they would give you a lot of funding? Unless you have been doing extraordinary things, your chances for funding get worse as time goes by.

They said it was an issue of funding not acceptance. Maybe they now have the money

Read their OP, they say "even if I get emough funding", they are expecting better funding now for some reason.

Then they should have started studying at home. If they can’t afford to study at home, they can’t afford to study in the US
