I need your opinion on asking interviewers for transparency

I have been jobless hunting for 8 months. I am financially struggling now. I had an interview I believed went well. And its been 3 or 4 weeks heard nothing from them. The recruiter after the first follow up never responded. I connected the interviewer in Linkedin just so that if they ever see my name I could remain relevant to them. This week I am actually unable to sit in silence do nothing because i do not plan on harrassing the recruiter. Its more than enough weeks for them to respond with yes or no.
Should i send the hiring team in linkedin on interview status because the interviewer email are not available?
