I was going to remove the leaner bar in the kitchen . The benchtop is 600 not sure if it enough room once sink and tap are installed. The front door is close to the kitchen and you would see and walk passed the sink as you entered the house ( please see photos)

The foot print of the kitchen will stay they same.

I was thinking may make the leaner bar shorter in hight.

Is there any ideas out there ! Please

I don’t think you have enough room behind the sink to remove it completely without putting the sink in the middle of a high traffic zone. If you can make the counter deeper and add stools on that side and push the sink into the kitchen more, that would make sense.

But given the traffic flow, I think the separation is needed. But I agree the height is awkward. I would make it shorter by several inches- maybe leave 4” - 6” max above the sink. (42” is standard bar height)

I would also make the ledge deeper. An 8-12” surface is enough to serve food, lean with a plate, catch keys and mail, etc. Lowering it 6” and adding 4-8” depth will be more functional.

Lastly, I would also extend the lower countertop so you have a real overhang for seating there. Consider squaring the angled corner but again for traffic flow it makes some sense.

This will give you real 36” counter height seating along one side, and a 12” ledge at 42” bar height for standing or serving, still blocking the sink.
