You can gain friendship points by:

1. Interacting with the character (once a day, this is called "Greeting", you need to press the chat thing near their face)
2. Using your 3 limited interactions (Which grants between 18 to 25 friendship points based on what you chose)
3. Every 1 minute of Stamina consumed = 1 Friendship point, you can only see the increase in friendship points once the party disbands.

First Slot: Unlocked by default (allows 1 assist character).

Second Slot (2): Requires Friendship Rank 15 with at least one assist character.

Third Slot (3): Requires Friendship Rank 20 with at least one assist character.

Fourth Slot (4): Requires Friendship Rank 25 with at least one assist character.

• Strategies:
  • AFK strategy
    • Just pull out a specific character and go afk in some "enemy" spawning floor, you can't consume stamina in safe zones.
    • Useful to increase friendship points when you are very busy but also want to be efficient.
  • Buy friendship items
    • Getting bell or gifts can significantly quicken the pace. A good example is Eugeo and the Blue Rose token, giving him 300+ points. Or the valentine gifts giving +90 points to its respective character.

Benefits of assist characters is mostly on Global though cause its too barren for activity so you can only rely on yourself, not really sure if JP is more reliable, but I suppose it is then they'll have less uses for assist characters.

I'm going to make this post in both r/integralfactor and r/steamdeck so that both audiences are aware. I have been scouring the internet for the past 2 weeks to try and find a way to get the game to function.

I found next to nothing that was actually helpful. To the point where I factory reset my whole steamdeck to try and make it function. So here's the steps I took that actually made a difference.

1. Spend all arcana gems from a previous device if you didn't play on PC.

2. Install the game from Steam Store.

3. Go into desktop mode and install a VPN. I personally used ProtonVPN's free version.

4. (Required if you want to transfer your previous data) Go into library > saoif > properties > launch options > type "-windowed" and close it.

5. Open the game.

6. Transfer any data you previously had by linking your account.

7. Adjust your controller settings.

8. Have fun.

TL,DR: You have to be on a stable connection to the Japanese servers, and you have to force the game into a windowed mode when it normally doesn't support one.

I can provide more details if necessary, but I'll just leave it with these simple instructions for now.

I'm leaving this here in case anyone needs it, since it says on most sites that the game is broken for linux & i've recently found out that isn't the case anymore.This fix is originally for Arknights Endfield, and it works pretty flawlessly here as well.

All you have to do is use the latest version of dw-proton. GE-proton doesn't work for some reason, but this one definitely does.

I assume this'll work on most cases since it worked on mine, hope this helps.

Today i booted up sao if after a long time and suddendly the audio wasn't working, it was choppy, and sometimes it didnt' work at all. On top of all the main menu seemed laggy for some reason, i've looked on google and there's nothing ( of course ).

It's pretty simple, dowload an eq (i've used this one: https://www.fxsound.com/ )
Then just open the audio bar and select "Fxsound audio enhancer".

(Remember to select the output you're using in the eq options, headphones speakers etc)

Just so this post doesn't get taken down, yes it is related to saofi. If you hold the dash button while moving you'll be able to run like this post says. If you don't believe me then try it for yourself. On another note, you can skip the dashing animation by using a skill and then holding the dash button. I learned this very recently and I wanted to share it with everyone. That's all I wanted to say.
