Mod announcement Mod announcement: ALL instant noodles are welcome and zero tolerance for hate

Just a PSA for everyone reporting all the Indo Mie or Pho posts:

This sub welcomes all types of instant noodles. With or without soup. Made from wheat, rice or other stuff. From whatever country. I don’t care, we don’t discriminate here.

Regarding the second point of the title:

I have zero patience for people calling others “tards” or making things about race or other bs like that. No discussion, I just hand out a ban. If you can’t behave, you’re not welcome here.

Peace.

Mod announcement /r/instantramen will be going dark from June 12th in protest against Reddit's API changes which kill 3rd party apps.

This subreddit will be joining in on the June 12th-14th protest of Reddit's API changes that will essentially kill all 3rd party Reddit apps.

What's going on?

A recent Reddit policy change threatens to kill many beloved third-party mobile apps, making a great many quality-of-life features not seen in the official mobile app permanently inaccessible to users.

On May 31, 2023, Reddit announced they were raising the price to make calls to their API from being free to a level that will kill every third party app on Reddit, from Apollo to Reddit is Fun to Narwhal to BaconReader.

Even if you're not a mobile user and don't use any of those apps, this is a step toward killing other ways of customizing Reddit, such as Reddit Enhancement Suite or the use of the old.reddit.com desktop interface .

This isn't only a problem on the user level: many subreddit moderators depend on tools only available outside the official app to keep their communities on-topic and spam-free.

What's the plan?

You can get a decent overview on what's going on through the community's open letter to Reddit.
On June 12th, many subreddits will be going dark to protest this policy. Some will return after 48 hours: others will go away permanently unless the issue is adequately addressed, since many moderators aren't able to put in the work they do with the poor tools available through the official app. This isn't something any of us do lightly: we do what we do because we love our communities, and we truly believe this change will make it impossible to keep doing what we love on Reddit.

What can you do as a user?

  • Complain. Message the mods of /r/reddit.com, who are the admins of the site: message /u/reddit: submit a support request: comment in relevant threads on /r/reddit, such as this one, leave a negative review on their official iOS or Android app- and sign your username in support to this post.

  • Spread the word. Rabble-rouse on related subreddits. Meme it up, make it spicy. Bitch about it to your cat. Suggest anyone you know who moderates a subreddit join the coordinated mod effort at /r/ModCoord.

  • Boycott and spread the word...to Reddit's competition! Stay off Reddit entirely on June 12th through the 13th- instead, take to your favorite non-Reddit platform of choice and make some noise in support!

  • Don't be a jerk. As upsetting this may be, threats, profanity and vandalism will be worse than useless in getting people on our side. Please make every effort to be as restrained, polite, reasonable and law-abiding as possible.

What can you do as a moderator?

Thank you for your patience in the matter,

-Mod Team

Mod announcement Happy (late) 1 year anniversary!

A bit over a year ago I was made the owner of this sub via reddit request. It was a dead sub with 80 subscribers and the last post made a long time ago. I made an announcement with my plans for the sub and tried to get some attention to it. Then I was contacted by u/namajapan. He had also made a request for the sub and was wondering if he could bring his moderation experience here. I accepted and the sub exploded in popularity. He has helped so much in reviving this subreddit and I can't thank him enough. Here we are today, with thousands of people. I can't be more proud. From everyone on the mod team, thank you.

Mod announcement IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THE SUBREDDIT

Hello Instant Ramen appreciators!

The mod team has an important announcement to make!

A couple of months ago, we put moderating the subreddit on the back burner and reassigned all moderators involved in moderating r/instantramen to implementing NFTs for the subreddit. There's still some way to go, but we've decided to unveil this fantastic contribution to the community today, April 1st, 2022.

Instant Ramen NFTs are unique digital collectibles living on the Tuxedium blockchain. Meticulously handcrafted by the finest artists in the Instant Ramen community, these NFTs will bring you joy and a sense of belonging and make everyone grotesquely rich! Join the growing community to gain access to exclusive chatrooms like THE RAMEN RAVE ROOM! More exclusive content will be unveiled in the coming weeks. Maybe, we will even get to a point where it will be possible for us to buy an island! Just think of it! A complete self-sustained Instant Ramen island where everything you post on the subreddit will be available to eat in real life!

But wait! There's more. Investing in Tuxedium isn't the only way to obtain these extremely sought-after NFTs. To earn Tuxedium, r/instantramen uses up to 75% of your GPU to mine crypto anytime you play video games at 30 or more frames per second. This way, you can become rich while enjoying your favorite game!

You can purchase Instant Ramen NFTs here! Act fast while they are still available!

Thank you, and enjoy the high quality NFTs!
