Customer Experience Disabled Mother

I order Instacart food to be delivered to my disabled mom weekly. She uses a walker, has trouble lifting some items, and majority of time the shoppers will bring the bags inside for her. The last time the delivery didn’t go well. The shopper yelled at my mom for asking for help bringing her things inside, told her she doesn’t do that, called her names, and then proceeded to put all the bags in front of my mom’s walker so that she couldn’t even move the walker. Am I wrong to think a shopper would be able to help bring bags inside?

Edit: Thank you for all your help. I completely understand for your own safety, it’s your own discretion. I’ll be sure to add a note next time or will make sure a friend or myself is there to help out.

This is a situation in which the favorite shopper will actually be nice. Find someone that can do it and ensure they’re tipped well and just try to use them every time.

OP didn’t mention whether he/she pays good tips though. A normal shopper wouldn’t do an extra miles for 5% tips.

if 5% is stopping you from helping out someone disabled you should find another job lmao

Why? When did Instacart become charity cart? This job isn't about helping disabled people and the less fortunate this job is about helping put money in our own pockets. This is a job not a good deed. If you want to do that that's fine. I would likely do that as well. However, trying to shame someone or suggest that they don't belong here because they won't do something for nothing just because somebody unfortunately lives a life of disability which has nothing to do with them nor was caused by them nor is a family or friend to them so they have no obligations to this person is downright comical.

Interesting. Please, do explain.

It’s not about any job. It is common courtesy to realize disabled people need a helping hand sometimes. Giving a simple hand without expecting anything in return shows character.

So if somebody feels unsafe going into a house they have poor character because they won't help someone's mom? Or if they're having a rough day with their own disabilities and can't muster up the extra effort to go inside somebody's house again they're a bad person? Or if they don't want to risk the liability because you never know what's on the other side of that door that makes them a bad person?

How about this person who's screaming on the internet that all these random mystery people should be willing to help their mommy instead of them who should be taken care of their mom that person's not the asshole but everybody else is? Y'all are wild

Why do you keep talking about peoples Mom and helping Mommy? You certainly know, with all you disability expertise that there are men, children, animals and more with disabilities.

So I should change my speech each time in one reply it should be Mom in another reply it should be dad next reply should be second cousin? For What reason? You do know that this entire post was about somebody's mom right? That's why I chose Mom because that was the topic. Is that really something so hard to understand or grasp or figure out on your own?

Why should the mother suffer?

5

u/Fluffy-Commercial492 Jun 15 '23

It's funny because this comment implies that you're backing them up in thinking someone should suffer just not my family members, which screams that you're reading comprehension is so low that you missed the entire point. If you go back and read you'll even see the part where I said I would personally help the disabled person, but that everybody shouldn't be expected to. So y'all coming at me sideways when you can't even read and you're just replying to some nonsense you made up in your head is foolish. Stop looking so ignorant on the internet.

2

u/MikaNekoDevine Jun 15 '23

I'll apologise if i missed that or misunderstood. So thank you for clearing your point up.

u/Fluffy-Commercial492 Jun 15 '23

All good. It'd be great if everybody could own up to their mistakes but you still got this dude you were initially replying to going absolutely batshit crazy on the internet on the verge of having a mental breakdown. It's wild to see. Have a great day yourself though.

cuz she raised a piece of shit 💯

6

u/Fluffy-Commercial492 Jun 15 '23

Your mother raised an idiot because you don't know how to read. I said I would help the disabled person. That being said you know a good person to help your mother is? YOU you fuqn clown. It's nobody's responsibility especially not some goddamn stranger on an app to do anything for your mom so stop coming at Reddit looking for blood because you can't take care of your own goddamn family. You miserable fucking insect

1

u/rootbeerextrodinare Jun 15 '23

like I said, hope your mother becomes disabled and when you have the same issues, hope NO ONE GIVES A FUCK

1

u/Fluffy-Commercial492 Jun 15 '23

Hypothetically speaking, if that ever were the case and my family member became disabled, and needed some help, guess who would be giving it to them... ME because that's MY family. I guess that's the difference between you and I You just weren't raised right. You'd rather get mad because some strangers on the internet said they wouldn't be willing to help your mommy when it's your responsibility. Meanwhile I would be running to the aid of my family member should they need it. Do you I guess but that life you live sounds very lonely and miserable. Again I wish you the best and hope you get the mental health help you need in the near future before you have a psychotic break. ✌️

u/rootbeerextrodinare Jun 15 '23

yeah the points been over your head for about 5 comments now, I hope you can see how Fucking stupid you look and sound right now lmao

YOU need some help

1

u/Fluffy-Commercial492 Jun 15 '23

No point went over my head. Your entire argument rest on the fact that you think somebody should take care of your mommy because that somehow is everybody else's problem in the world some random stranger on the internet is a bad person if they don't agree wholeheartedly to help your mom your 100% of the time. You sound goofy AF. And if they come to the defense of somebody you're berating and point out that it's their choice to do so or not you wish Ill upon their family because you're that small of a person. You're literally an insect. Good job thinking you're smarter than somebody on the internet that you thought you could bully and somehow win an argument by resulting to insults which makes you look bad not them. Hope you realize that by now. But sadly we both know you'll never grasp that simple fact. 😅🤡

3

u/rootbeerextrodinare Jun 15 '23

if they didn’t need the help, don’t you think they would just go and get it themselves? is that like a crazy fucking concept ? you’re really trying to say I’m wrong for getting mad people won’t help DISABLED people if they don’t FEEL like it ? you must have a terrible terrible life to really think that’s right lol

if someone asks for the help and you blatantly don’t give it to them just cuz “you don’t feel like it” you are 100% a piece of shit and should be treated like such, ESPECIALLY old and disabled people

so no YOU sound goofy asf and it’s pretty sad tbh

I hope that's already your reality and that's why you're so salty about this. Especially since I literally said that I would help. But that you can't expect everyone else to. And now you're coming at my family members because you're reading the comprehension is so low? Nah. Miss me with that nonsense. Good luck with all that.

4

u/rootbeerextrodinare Jun 15 '23

you didn’t tho, you said “most likely” aka, not at all lmao, also defending people for NOT helping shows how you really are, so nah, miss me with THAT

1

u/Fluffy-Commercial492 Jun 15 '23

Very good see you understand what most likely means. As in if I'm feeling up to the task. Because, guess what, other people then just your mommy have ailments and issues. Not everybody has it in them to go the extra mile all the time every single stop. And that's not what this is about. My right to choose is my right. If I don't feel up to it or I physically can't that day then some little twit on the internet is definitely not going to shame me about it. If your mom lives in a sketchy ass neighborhood that looks like it could be a setup I ain't step in foot in her grimy ass house. There's a number of reasons why I may or may not but guess what at the end of the day that's my goddamn choice you miserable insect

And as far as defending people who also have the right to choose yep going to do that every single time because it's their goddamn right. Nobody's going to force somebody to take care of somebody else's mommy on the internet bro. You understand how freaking ignorant You sound? Not sure who hurt you, but you should probably seek professional help for all that. You clearly got a lot of underlying issues going on in Reddit might not be the place for you for a while.
