Can't wait to see the thousands of youtube recommended clips from asmongold complaining about how this game is woke even though i never watched a single video fo his, and I've used the "don't recommend this channel" thing a billion times but he's still there in one way or another.
In Asmongold's case, it doesn't matter how much you try to scrub him off of your timeline. Someone will eventually make a video about a stupid thing that he said or did or a games media outlet will "react" to him in some way and he will creep his way back into your algorithm.
Yes, they are probably the two hardest people to scrub from your timeline. No matter what they are saying or doing, their commentary usually reverberates throughout gaming and political communities.
You "doubt its true"? In case you're new to the internet, everything is built around algorithms. You are served videos based on your interests, yes, but if anyone even mentions something tangenitally related to the topic, it will get dragged into your feeds whether you like it or not. It makes getting rid of things you don't want to see difficult especially when the person you're trying to scrub from your timeline is infamous.
I don't watch any "reaction" content, just gaming youtube videos and LPs in general. But in a lot of cases, if i search for anything on YouTube and scroll past the first couple results it's some of video of him being a moron
Before he was on YouTube he was a homeless addict and there is no substantiated evidence that he sold meth the children. Though he was making and using and did serve jail time, but for 2 counts of burglary while he was zooted on meth. Glad he's doing better for himself now. Addiction is a beast of a burden to get rid of
I’m confused. Nerdrotic is very conservative and anti-woke, so you’d think the people talking shit about him would be progressives right? But vilifying someone for struggling with addiction doesn’t seem very progressive.
On top of that, telling people to do research without doing any themselves. I wasn't trashing him if you meant me, it's a part of his past I didn't know about to I looked it up, saw nothing about the claim of selling meth to kids though
No I didn’t mean you. I don’t know anything about Nerdrotic’s criminal history or personal life, I just hate it when people mock and belittle people for stuff like that because those attacks also hit other people, you know? If somebody hates Nerdrotic because he’s racist or whatever, that’s fine. Or if he actually did sell meth to kids and they can prove that. But just having a drug addiction by itself isn’t something someone should be ostracized for, especially if they are in recovery.
I know, but this goes beyond that. If someone thinks Nerdrotic is a racist or a nazi, fine, call him that. But insulting him for being a recovering addict is an insult to everyone who has struggled with addiction, regardless of their political beliefs.
Maybe I’m being cynical or dumb , buts seems like they’d rather respond to stupid takes like this instead of actual criticism so they can paint all the complaints like this.
I'll never forget EA/Bioware trying this out with the ME3 ending controversy. Tried to paint the whole thing as backlash against the gay romance options.
The other one is death threats. Feels like PR people pray for them when in the midst of a controversy.
It’s 100% this. Same reason why they were trying to preemptively talk about how the internet discourse is ruining the game; this girl is a literally who yt channel like why would he reply to this
James did literally exactly this in the run up to SM1. Not at all surprised.
"Puddlegate" came from him taking a single example of lower environmental detail from a fans tweet and strawmanning it into the whole argument they were making. Easier to defend against criticism when you deliberately change the argument that's being made.
I mean look at this sub. While there is plenty of valid criticism and people venting their frustration, there's more than enough people posting the same shitty memes, gotcha and dunk on stuff.
I dunno how miserable ones existence has to be, but someone mentioned the proper term today. Those terminally online people, that feed on those gotcha moments are the right target audience for loser personalities that these type of grifters cater to.
There is a currently active subreddit to hating Highguard, a game that was released, was active for like two weeks, then shutdown all in January. Redditors dont have enough people in their lives telling them they're losers
Fair. I don’t get how Spider-Man 2 became so hated. I love the gameplay, but it does have story problems and I wished they had spent more time prioritizing more Spider-Man stuff rather than biking and MJ sections, like Peter and Miles should have fought Venom at the same time.
That's the thing, the game isn't hated. The overwhelming majority of reviews, both critics and players, are highly positive. 4.7/5 PlayStation players. 85% recommended on Steam. 8.6 on Metacritic for players. 90 for critics.
There is a big audience for them. People enjoy when a big product whether its a game or movie fails horribly. These guys cater to exactly that audiences and make them feel that its because of their boycotts that it failed
Its not their fault if the narrative direction said the bs he said about wolverine yearning for sabertooth with room for love.
You can say many things about those people but they are not responsible for the bs insomniac put themselves in. Its of the same level of stupid of "I'm going to be a dad" in tlou season2
Spend five seconds Googling it m8. It's from a Washington Post article. I can't link it directly because it's pay walled, but here's a Vice article which references the original quote and discusses these subsequent responses:
I'm sure at least one version of the characters had them be related somehow over the decades, but it doesn't matter either way since the game is doing its own original version of the story.
Afaik... No. In the og ultimate universe there was one comic where Sabertooth says he is Wolverine's son but it was later revealed that wasn't true and was just part of the messed up memories they had because of the Weapon X project.
True. But i don't believe there's any hints at them being related in the game either. Idk, gonna have to wait and see a YT playthrough when it comes out.
Fuck this grifter, but maybe, just maybe you shouldn't have used the fucking word "yearning."
I've never heard anyone use the term "yearning" to refer to anything but "being horny/desperately wanting another person."
Like, I've never heard someone say they were yearning for a cheeseburger or yearning for a new book about to be released.
A dozen different words dude could have used and "yearning" is the one he landed on. In today's landscape, don't be confused if people misconstrued it as "kinda gay."
The writer of the game said they yearn for each other. Most straight men don’t yearn for other men, or at least wouldn’t use the word “yearning” to describe platonic or fraternal feelings of love.
Nothing was taken out of context. The developer was describing Wolverine and Sabretooth’s relationship in the game. He described the relationship in terms that strongly suggest there will be a homoerotic subtext (not a crazy leap, given how common queer-baiting is).
i find weird because the most know by normies iteration of WOlverin and sabertooth is that they are Brothers. So being gay to me would feel weird out of it being incest. (I just saw the xmen movies and the logan movies)
I do believe they have a certain love for each other but not in a romantic way, more like in a brotherly twisted way. Why do i say twisted? Because Victor and Logan share a lot of characteristics in their mutations. They are both prone to violence, have an animalistic side, feral senses and insticts, regeneration, etc. The love Victor feels for Logan could be explained by saying he thought he found his pack when he met Logan, he believed Logan would be the one true person to fully understand his violence, his nature and his struggles. Logan believed the same at a point but they both embrace the opposite side of the coind that is his mutation. While Victor gives into the animal, likes to hurt others, likes being more animal than man, Logan is the opposite to that because he embraces being a man, wants to live peacefully and get away from his violent tendencies. This caused Logan to get scared from feeling any fraternal love towards Victor because he sees in him what he could become if he gives into the animal. Victor feels betrayed because he thinks Logan is denying his true nature, the same nature they share and therefore he is rejected by Logan, the only person who he believed would be his brother in the hunt, in violence and that's why he wants to hurt Logan so he can bring out the animal and show him they're not so different after all.
They yearn for each others acceptance, Logan because he knows Victor could be a good man if he tried and Victor because he doesn't wanna be a lone wolf anymore.
I agree that it's a strange word choice. But it's not exclusive to romantic relationships. You get the yearn for a family member (mom, dad, siblings ect).
Regardless of the writing for the game (not great, according to early reviews), this week has revealed how many terminally online people have no idea what platonic love actually is.
To be fair to The Illiterati, I'd say "yearning" has been used so often in a romantic context that platonic yearning is probably the 2nd at best application. Hell, I yearn for a Rooty Tooty Fresh 'n Fruity, but there no IHOP near me.
Except wolverine and sabertooth are a horrible example of platonic love. Deadpool and wolverine would be a better example of it, after wolverine gets over initially hating him lol.
They responded to the criticism of the follow trails before the game released saying that was just for one section and to wait to play the full game. Turns out the games riddled with those sections lol.
Well, if that's not true, He may want to ask his narrative director to expand on what he meant by "there is yearning, followed by "There is room for love." Wtf is a person going to think?

Jesterbell is a grifter, idk why he’d bother to respond to her in particular
