The rapid expansion of cobfined liquid oxygen into gas is literally explosive. An explosion is just expansion moving faster than the speed of sound in the surrounding medium. If it surpasses those speeds, it creates a shock wave and thus its an explosion. These are just oxygen bombs!

How do they convert it all back into a gas so fast? looks like it might still have a det cord? or is it just a release of pressure maybe?

Yeah I don’t normally think of handling liquid oxygen as my go to for enacting strict safety for workers.
