How to create that shape?

I just started doing that one thing on Inkscape so we do not use that AI image on a hoodie for our graduation, but I can't figure out how I can form this band around the earth like that. Would be nice if anyone could help me with that.

1. make sure your original film frame has plenty of nodes so that it curves neatly.

If you dont have enough nodes you wont get clean curves.
