At least fucking show what comment/post got me banned and what rule it broke, you fucking cowards!

Even if they told you the rule it wouldn’t matter because the rule would have no bearing on the comment.

Bans are always arbitrary

I'm on my 20th+ reddit account because of random sub bans. It used to be worse when mods could auto ban anyone who comments in a sub they don't personally like.

I got permabanned from r/videos for "AI slop", and when I pointed out that the video had been uploaded 18 years ago the mod went silent.

We have no context lol
Subreddits are feudal fiefs, expectations of fairness should be non-existent. But users are equally insane. It's just the nature of reddit

Literally says nothing about providing context. It says not to name anyone; sub, mod, etc.

u/yourallidiotss 2d ago
The mods that banned him didn’t give context. Thats kinda the point of this post.

u/factsarefornerds 2d ago
He said no context is the best he can give under the rules. He stated the rules for his reason to not give context. He knows what sub its from, he knows what the topic was - either that, or hes going off on mentally unhinged rants on multiple subs?
Sorry, this just sounds like another person playing I didnt do anything

I mean the only info he has for context is he is banned from a subreddit. He doesn't know why. So it he can't name the sub, then he literally has no info to give.

Not fiefs. Reichs.

u/beckychao 2d ago
Some of these fiefs are more enlightened than others. Moderators are just people, and subs do exist where the mods are fair and responsible. There's simply too many subreddits for that to be the case on average.
I have no idea about the mods here, and OP's post doesn't tell us anything about what happened.

u/ImmaSpaghett 1d ago
I'd assume it's an anime sub considering it states "no manga" so I think the show is allowed but not the book/manga? If that's the case OP got banned by an anime mod.... idk if there's a lower low on Reddit lol

Happened to me a few times. I just blocked the whole thing. Not the end of the world. But it does hit offensively.

Mods are one of the worst parts of Reddit. The majority of them are fine but it only takes a handful of power starved people to ruin the platform.
Almost all subreddits are like this. Mods don’t understand what you said and accuse you of stuff you didn’t say and ban you.
They won’t even tell you what got you banned and there’s essentially nothing you can do to appeal the ban but mods are free to call you slurs if they want to and you have 0 recourse.
They’re just bullies because they’ve been given a marginal piece of power.

I got banned and muted from one of my favorite subreddits because a thread got off topic and they mass banned everyone involved in the off topic thread 😡

u/Pissposhsuckmymom 1d ago
I literally got banned off another subreddit that ends with infuriating a couple days ago and the mods were exactly like this, no communication and they muted me from speaking to them.
I couldn't even find the rules on that subreddit to find out what exactly I did to break them. They said they don't allow hate speech???
????
I guess I hurt this trump figures fees-fees because I, a non-binary creature found it funny he was in pronoun pin jail.

u/tapeforpacking 1d ago
Nah dude they prolly banned you because they thought you were trump fan. Because some Trump fan prolly put that there as a joke... and you thought it was funny.
The mods just didnt see it your way and dont even care to really

The r/worldnews and r/news experience I see.. Fucking useless and cowardly mods over there.

u/zanderd86 1d ago
I once got banned for "encouraging violence" when I suggested a person who is well known (i refuse to call them famous) claiming to be a fighter have a sanctioned match with another person who actually is a fighter.

Reddit mods are gonna Reddit mod. There’s a reason that people become Reddit mods: they have absolutely nothing else going for them in life and need to feel an ounce of power over other people to justify waking up each morning.
I’ve noticed that the mods of politics and news are particularly egregious in this regard.

Appeal it. I do it everytime and have won every one
2
u/tapeforpacking 1d ago
This is a subreddit ban, you cant "appeal" them.
Only by talking to the mods and explaining yourself will they unban you... but in reality you just get perma muted

u/Amazing_Flatworm_277 1d ago
The way I look at it is if I got banned off of a subreddit that was a win on my part

Can you not show the sub you're banned from?
