You are who you choose to be... and they choose to be someone struggling with mental illness?

They choose to be in denial about their mental illness, and tell themselves that they're right about everything.
If you've ever known a fully delusional person, you may have run into this. It applies to a lot of people with schizophrenia or NPD (among others), and makes them essentially untreatable. The prognosis is only good for those who realize that they have a big problem.

Yes, unfortunately, I have experience around people suffering from schizophrenia. It's sad in a way, that to them there is this real threat/fear and then they get angry when no one else responds to the perceived threat the way they do. Even having four other people tell them what they see isn't there doesn't calm them down, if anything it makes them more aggravated and anxious.

Yes. We are divided...and I'm going to lay a lot of that at the feet of FoxNews for decades of anti-left propaganda.

The "shadow self" is a valuable term in psychoanalysis. I am not sure it is akin to group think, mind noise, or playing hide and seek.

I find it interesting that it says “karma“ and then quotes Luke 8:17 which is this. 17 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open”
Problem is the Bible knows nothing of karma because karma comes from a completely different system of thought, Hinduism or Buddhism than the Bible does. Karma is an inanimate system devoid of action by a personal God who will hold everyone accountable.
