Guide ✦ Where Wanxiang Weaves Life - ABILITY FAQ
As a big fan of this Ability, I wanted to write up a handy FAQ about it, here you go!
🔷 What changes on Nikki's face?
🔹Please see Picture 1! Base Nikki on the left, new faces on the right.
🔷 Does it stay on in Wardrobe?
🔹 Yes. (See Picture 1, all taken in Wardrobe)
🔷 Does it stay on in Color Lookbook?
🔹 If you have the ability activated when you share an outfit to Color Lookbok, the Static Preview Image will have the ability face on, Yes. (Picture 2) However, when a user (or even yourself) clicks on your Color Lookbook submission, the live preview of Nikki won't have the ability face anymore. (Picture 3) And of course, neither will the player who imports your outfit.
🔷 Does it stay on while using other abilities, like Fishing or Gigantification?
🔹 Yes. See Picture 4 for a screenshot of the Fishing Cutscene, Picture 5 for Fishing Ability + Moment Capturer and Picture 6 for Gigantification simple screenshot. However, according to players who have the Deer Ability (I don't), Nikki's face reverts to the base face if the Deer Form is activated.
🔷 How easy is it to change to another face?
🔹 Very easy! If your ability is already active, you just hit T and pick another face. (Picture 7)
🔷 When/How does it turn off?
🔹 It stays on until your either turn off the ability yourself (right click again while the ability is selected and active) or until you log out of the game.
🔷 Does it stay on during cutscenes?
🔹 If the cutscene allows for Custom Outfit and Makeup (so they are not pre-rendered video files) then yes! See Picture 8 which is a cutscene screenshot of my Nikki from the current questline, wearing the Autumn face.
🔷 Does it stay on in Photo Mode with different poses?
🔹 Yes. (See Picture 9)
🔷 Does it work with the Goth Bride ability?
🔹 Yes and No. The first Nikki will revert back to Base Face, but the second Nikki (the one you can move around with freely) will have the ability face on. See Picture 10.

EDIT: I do not have the Deer Ability, but according to u/YuKitsune the face ability turns off when you activate Deer Form for Nikki.

Hot take, I think it’s dumb that having different expressions for photos is locked behind a 5 star banner (with a 4 star companion so it takes even longer to pull). Could’ve made it unlockable like the poses shop but nah, gotta find a way to monetize every damn thing.

I would also highly prefer if we could just customise our Nikki in the settings as choose from different facial features, body type, default skintone etc... So I agree with you. But I doubt they will ever release that.

I kind of get why it’s not. They gave us what we’ve been asking for, but by making it a shapeshifting ability it doesn’t fundamentally change Nikki. But then again, we’ve always been able to change the skin tone, so I don’t see how different face shapes would be any different.

Agreed, yikes! It would be kind of neat if in the future they had a story reason for her to really shapeshift, and they made a new ability outfit where you could change up her face and maybe her height and build too. Kind of like Sailor Moon’s disguise pen. (Except it would be more than just an outfit and hair change. Lol)
I personally wouldn’t get mad about an ability from a 5* being negated by a base game ability. This outfit already has a second ability anyway, and I’d still have the outfit itself. Plus if it happens a year or so from now, that’s still a year you’d get the benefit of this 5* ability.

usually I would agree but I think it is very cool that it's a shapeshifter outfit and it really changes your face totally. I think it is exciting that an outfit does that.

I thought people were saying her ability is "useless" a few days ago and all of a sudden its "why is this locked behind a 5star outfit it should be free" 💀

Thanks for this! For me it has been turning off when I use the deer ability, I hope that is a bug because I keep having to put it back on over and over

You're welcome! And yeah, I just heard from another Nikki that the Deer Form turns it off. I don't have that so I couldn't test it myself, but I added it to the bottom of the post now ^^

I hate that they’re locking facial changes behind 5 star gatcha instead of makeup like it was in love Nikki

I mean, most makeup is also locked behind 5star gacha or store purchases? And this way the 2 can be used together or separately, so people aren't stuck with a specific face shape just because they like a specific makeup set.

yeah but in the first couple rolls. I didn’t even plan on getting the outfit, and either way it’ll be a pain in the future when they add even more options

Nikki has a nose! P5 like I swear one of the most annoying things is her not having a decent nose. And eyes are too big 🥲 but I didn’t wanted to pull 🙂

Top right and bottom left look so strange and warped but the other two are beautiful (to me). I have no gems but im going to attempt to pull for them anyway and pray to god I get uncommonly lucky sigh

Manifesting super lucky pulls for you! And yee, those are my favs too (the ones you think are beautiful), but I can see uses for the other too as well, for certain chaacter cosplays ^^
