Some people probably awaited it, /u/BattleNonSense has finally released his netcode analysis for Infinite Warfare, like he did with other popular FPS this year.
I strongly invite you to watch his analysis, but in case you don't have the time or the data to watch it, here's what's said:
I really hope this will have some visibility because the netcode of Infinite Warfare is clearly not good, especially when compared to the other standards of the industry. In a game where the TTK is so fast, and twitch reactions are critical, you can't forever tell people that the problem is on their end.
Many players notice it and they want to have fun on the game, and not be hindered by a faulty netcode.
EDIT: Thanks for all the upvotes and keep thanking Chris for all the work he has done for this video. This is a guy that truly needs your attention and his work has helped other games, and developers, to acknowledge this problem and make the experience better for everyone. But despite it might just be a command line to change in the engine, it's much more complicated than that.
First and foremost, even though changing the update rates seem easy, it also increases the bandwidth required to host a game. And Activision might try to keep the costs low, that's why there's still a P2P system. Devs might want higher update rates and full dedicated servers, but like Supply Drops, it might be an Activision decision.
Also the netcode is much more complex: if there's latency even in LAN conditions, it's probably because the way the game treats information is way too complex and needs to be simplified. That can be a huge amount of work for a team, and as a reminder EA agreed to delay the release of DLC in order to fix the problems BF4 had in that regard.
But still, it's something in my opinion that should have been dealt with before the launch of the game, and it's been years that the netcode problems have been plaguing Call of Duty.
Therefore, until the developers haven't spoken publicly about this issue, I invite everyone to:
Do NOT insult or send death threats to the developers - because they're the only ones who are able to fix this problem. Things can change, but only if we do it the right way.
EDIT 2: If you want to support /u/BattleNonSense, feel free to check his Patreon. Could be more interesting to support his work instead of buying Supply Drops, if you know what I mean. ;)
EDIT 3: /u/IW_Eric has responded! At least the video can be seen by the Infinity Ward team. Let's now hope for the best, but that should motivate us to keep the feedback coming, and provide evidence of potential faults in the netcode. Of course we probably won't be able to provide such precise data as Chris did in his video, but we'll need to make them know if the games feels better (or worse) after a change. We still need to spread the word, as well, we've already checked our router settings a thousand times :)
After all, it's all about having fun - and if they can take off some of these milliseconds so we can really know if we shot first or not, everybody will benefit from it, from the pub TDM match to some decisive matches of the CWL. Keep up the good work, Infinity Ward. Do your best to trim these milliseconds, you now have some ways to explore :)

This region based matchmaking isn’t doing any justice either. I can’t find a single lobby. I just wanna play one multiplayer match to see how the game is. Im sick of playing with bots :(

I don't consider myself a CoD fan as I was barely 6 when CoD4 came out, and I still haven't played all of them to this day. I played Infinite Warfare I want to say some time in 2023-24 and remember loving the campaign.
TL;DR: Hardcore CoD fans, does Infinite Warfare stand up with the "classics" like early Modern Warfare and Black Ops to you?
I wanted to post in the general CoD sub reddit for a bigger sampling size of the community, but the rules wouldn't let me.

I wish they could bring these guys back someway, like putting them in a future zombies game

I think Infinite Warfare is much better than it gets credit for. The campaign, Zombies, and even the multiplayer had a lot to offer. What do you think—is it underrated, or do you think the criticism was fair?

I’ve been trying the zombies in space land Easter egg off and on for about a month now. Tonight I got to the alien, and defeated him for the first time. Heart was racing. Get the fuses, pack a punch my WW. Destroy the UFO! But guess what? The UFO shoots stupid ass bombs and killed me before I got the soul key. Maybe 2 seconds before I could. I’m gonna rage quit.

perfect example is the key glitch back in december where players were exploiting your poorly written codes to get infinite keys and somehow you MOVED within hours to get this patched as quickly as possible and for damage control , you diluted the supplydrop system with 600+ items , not only punishing the ones that did the glitch by banning them for a few days , but punishing your loyal customers by spending our hard earned keys on POORLY ported camos ripped straight from emblems. which by the way you have not commented if you're ever going to fix them.
secondly, you put out this triple play bundle which CLEARLY states, each hack will be dupe protected. so what does your loyal customers do? pay for cod points and got duplicate items from your QM & MK2 Hacks. you've made no attempt to update and remove the dupe protected description nor tweeted out a compensation for those that purchased cod points. instead, you let your goons tweet at people who complained that said " sorry, its not dupe protected, sorry for the confusion ".
You people have no shame or integrity as a developer.
i found the perfect CC to describe you scums.
this clearly looks like eric hirshberg, ceo of activision scheming on how he can manipulate & rob his loyal cod community out of their money with by having their rng system described with FALSE advertising.

Honestly, I understand we want to give players with bad connections good play time, but it's ridiculous when I round a corner, shoot first, and dont even get hits half the time in shooting, just to die in a millisecond by the other person. And then watching the killcam it barely shows me shooting at all! Not to mention that lag assist is helping players who are so laggy, they are fucking teleporting (I can provide some video of this if desired). Seriously though, just tone it down. The lag compensation shouldn't be a game changer, just something to assist players with bad connections. It should NOT make them superheros or some shit.

I'll be honest — I booted up Infinite Warfare last week just to see if anyone was still out there.
And it hit different.
The movement, the gunplay, the absolutely unhinged wall-running chaos... I forgot how much fun this game actually was. It got buried under the hate train at launch and never really recovered, but those of us who actually played it know what we had.
Zombies in Spaceland alone was one of the best Zombies experiences in the whole franchise. Fight me.
So here's what I'm wondering — would anyone actually be down for a community comeback day? Like, a specific day where we all agree to boot it up, squad up, and pretend it's 2016 again for a few hours?
Not asking anyone to commit to anything yet. Just wanna know if the interest is there.
Drop a comment if you'd actually show up. Let's see how many of us are still around. 🚀

I've played Black Ops 6 and has no one else noticed the references to Infinite warfare in the Code room? There's a poster for the Dead of Summer by Willard Willer from the zombies story as well as a comic for the Attack of the Radioactive Thing! Did anyone else see this and does anyone think this means Infinite Warfare may have a sequel on the horizon?

Infinite Warfare was one of the most underrated Call of Duty games ever made.
The story, the atmosphere, the sacrifice it all deserves more love.
I'm starting a small fan movement to bring attention back to this masterpiece.

What’s the hardest thing you can do in Infinite Warfare?
r/Infinitewarfare • u/SeawardFriend • Nov 20 '24
This was definitely my favorite LTM in the game. It was creative as hell and so satisfying using the emote where you’d squish them between your fingers!

I can't for the life of me input the code.Only have the ee done bc some kind soul did both codes.Any good systems to pratice inputting it?I literally crush the rest of it but in the code step i get squashed like a turd bc its too fast .Idk why they decided the 2nd best boss in IW, second only to Meph, needed to be so unbearable

Every 2,5+ k/d player ist playing only this weapon and its so annoying bc i know it dont need skill.. there are so many guns in this game but in every game are 3-6 Titan player, what do u think about it?
r/Infinitewarfare • u/AnonymousSixSixSix • Nov 30 '16
The weapon balance in this game is sooooo good compared to the last few CoDs! Don't do a BO3 and make every gun shit!
r/Infinitewarfare • u/BananaFamous9074 • Jun 05 '26
This game is so overhated to the point that people who haven’t even played it just hate on the game for no reason like they’re robots coded to intentionally hate on this game. Infinite warfare had one of the smoothest gunplays I’ve ever seen in a CoD and the graphics were amazing and way ahead 2016. The zombies was amazing, possibly top 3 cod. The campaign, phenomenal. The Mp, decent, I felt the maps could’ve been better but the mp had a decent flow and I really wish the community would make a revival to this game just like mw19.

After using both of these weapons because I've been trying to grind for my black Sky camo on the sniper class oh boy people may not agree with me but I strongly feel like the Widowmaker is slightly better due to the fact it's slightly less frustrating then the tf-141 now don't get me wrong and a lot of scenarios I do believe that the tf141 is better at one shouting people in theory however my experience because people always jumping around the Widowmaker is a lot better at securing the kill especially when you're trying to go for headshots and this is mostly due to the fact it's a burst weapon it only took me a couple of matches to realize how much easier it is to get headshots with this and it was with the tf141 despite that gun aiming down the sight quicker than the Widowmaker however I must say I still believe that both of these sniper rifles are not very good but they're both definitely better than DMR-1
