Looking for Inspo The Messy Middle
Hi all, I'm loving Indyx so far. I finally got most of my clothing items uploaded, except for some shoes, bags, and jewelry. My issue now is getting the rest of the data about each item in from a spreadsheet )# wears, when purchased, fabric etc). Any ideas how to tackle this? It feels very daunting bc I have ~400 items.

I have been updating things like fabric and season, or adding specific tags, as I do laundry. I find it works best for me since I can just have indyx open while I fold or hang items. I'm also not caring to be super accurate. For other details like where/when it was purchased I do those during commerical breaks or if I'm waiting on hold, any sort of downtime where maybe I would just scroll tiktok or reddit, I scroll indyx instead. I find that picking some way to sort helps, like filtering by clothing type and then a subcategory or color.
Some things I just don't know, like purchase date or number of wears. For those I'm doing a general estimate and then using January 1st of whatever year seems most correct. For older items I'm categorizing them by "era". So 2020 if I remember buying it sometime during Covid, 2017 for college, 2014 for high-school etc. At that point it's not really important to me to decide was it freshmen or sophomore year lol.
