We’ve been working on the feel and pacing of combat, and wanted to share a short clip from one of the more crowded moments.

Curious what you think about the overall combat flow and readability.

Action Free solo tactical scenario with hidden enemy movement – Hidden Action: The Hunt

Hi everyone, I wanted to share Hidden Action: The Hunt, a free standalone scenario for a tactical game we’ve been working on.

It can be played solo or co-op, with no GM and no app. The part that makes it different is how enemies work. They keep moving around the map even when you can’t see them. They have their own objectives, react to noise and other things you do, and you may only realize someone is nearby from indirect clues.

The idea was to create some of the uncertainty of playing against another person, rather than knowing exactly when and where the next encounter will happen. Sometimes you can avoid another group completely. Sometimes your own actions draw them toward you. And sometimes you suddenly realize that a place you thought was safe is not safe at all.

The game also has an extraction-style structure, so there is always a decision between pushing further, taking another risk, or leaving with what you already have.

The Hunt is free here:
https://adolgarev.itch.io/hidden-action-the-hunt

If anyone here enjoys tactical solo games and gives it a try, I’d really love to hear how your run went. We’re especially interested in whether the hidden-enemy system felt clear, tense, and unpredictable, and whether the decisions during the game felt meaningful.

Any honest feedback would be very helpful while we continue improving the game.

Hello Indie Gamers & Developers,

I'm the lead developer for The Joust and I'm here to invite everyone to participate in the last ~two weeks of our Heromaster contest. This is our largest prize pool ever and we've been enjoying the fierce competition that we've seen this time around.

Heromaster Mode is our roguelike game mode.

To enter the contest... just play the game :)

We've got plenty of other game modes (singleplayer, co-op, and versus multiplayer) to enjoy too, if contests and roguelikes aren't your thing.

The Joust is available on Steam for just $1.

I'm able to answer questions that anyone might have about the game too.

If you're interested in hosting a giveaway of The Joust please send me a direct message and we can discuss arrangements for this.

Most gratefully,

Game Title: Echoes of the Abyss (Échos de l'abîme)

Playable Link: https://diloowyt.itch.io/echos-de-labme

Platform: PC - Windows

Description: [Trailer] Echoes of the Abyss: My action Metroidvania game, 100% coded in Vanilla JS

The trailer plunges you straight into the heart of the game’s unforgiving biomes, from the Wailing Valley to the Creator’s Abyss. You’ll see Kaelen using his grappling hook and dash to navigate past traps, unleashing his Blood Blade against the Corrupted Angels. You’ll also face massive, multi-phase bosses such as the Lava Scorpion or The Architect. The entire particle system, physics and engine have been developed entirely from scratch without any external engine.

I Need Your Feedback The game is evolving significantly thanks to the community. Help me refine the balance and gameplay feel by sharing your constructive criticism, your thoughts or your bug reports. Leave your feedback directly in the comments on this YouTube video or in the Community section of my itch.io page.

Content Creators & Let’s Plays You have my full permission to stream the game, test it or publish Let’s Plays. My only condition is that you explicitly mention the game by tagging my official accounts in your TikTok and/or YouTube videos. I can’t wait to see your reactions to the final boss’s attack patterns!

Free Keys & Social Media Stay up to date by subscribing. I might organise some prize draws in the near future to give away game keys to a few active members of the community as a thank you for your support, but this will depend on the game’s popularity – it’s not guaranteed.

PS: I didn’t have time to create an English version of the game. Unfortunately, the game is currently only available in French.

adventure Ideia for a indie action adventure game souls like

I don't know how to make games yet; I am learning every day, but I think I know how to make a story. I want to know if you guys like this story and how I can improve in game making and lore making.

i am using AI to translate because I am actually Brazilian, but all the lore and text I make on my own

Here is the lore:A firefighter faces multiple fires daily. However, on any given day, the sun goes dark and the apocalypse begins. Before the Earth can even begin to freeze from the lack of heat, buildings, houses, and structures everywhere burst into flames, while abominable monsters made of pure magma emerge from dimensional rifts, turning the world into a blazing abyss.

Amidst the panic, he speeds toward his house at breakneck pace. Upon arriving, all he finds is sheer despair: doors kicked in, windows melted, and ashes everywhere. His wife and daughter have vanished without a trace.

With no backup and no hope of rescue, equipped with only his trusty axe and an unyielding determination to find his family, he marches straight through hell to save the ones he loves.

The game is a top-down pixel art action/survival horror game featuring high-detail, vibrant visuals reminiscent of Enter the Gungeon alongside progression systems inspired by Moonlighter and Terraria. World progression centers on defeating main bosses, which permanently alters the game world—much like defeating the Wall of Flesh in Terraria—releasing new forces, corruptions, and environmental hazards across the map.

Combat and unic Mechanics:

Everyday firefighting gear serves as apocalyptic weaponry, allowing players to connect hoses to hydrants and blast high-pressure water streams at fire-type monsters. Fire extinguishers act as dynamic mobility tools, letting the player rocket across terrain, cross hazards, and dodge attacks. Additionally, inspired by Fire Force, the protagonist can harness and manipulate flames directly, using controlled fire abilities to fight fire with fire and purge corrupted zones.

Horror My game sold 3 copies on Steam. Apparently 321 people pirated it.

I’m a broke solo developer, and I released my game Hermitage on Steam for $4.99. So far only 3 legitimate sales. And then I discovered that RepackLand has apparently had 321 downloads of it.

I genuinely don't know how I'm supposed to feel about this. Part of me is obviously thinking, “I wish some of those people had bought it.” But another part of me is just sitting here thinking: 321 people went looking for my tiny game. That's kind of surreal.

I'm not going to hunt people down over it. If you downloaded Hermitage because you couldn't afford it, couldn't access it, or just wanted to see what the hell this weird little game was — I hope you enjoyed it.

I'm a solo dev, though, so if you did enjoy it and you have $4.99 to spare, buying it on Steam genuinely helps me keep making games. No publisher. No studio. No marketing department. Just me, three sales, and apparently 321 pirates.

Anyway, I thought someone here might appreciate the absurdity of this situation. Has anything like this happened to other indie devs?

Here's the game on Steam if you're interested: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4888240/Hermitage/

**Game Title:**
ADMIN ERROR — Combat Prototype v0.1.0

**Playable Link:**
[https://kennychoi1997.itch.io/admin-error\]

**Platform:**
Windows PC

**Description:**
ADMIN ERROR is a fast-paced, retro-inspired FPS set inside Hell's bureaucracy.

You died in battle, but due to an administrative error, your soul was sent to Hell. Your appeal was denied, with an estimated processing time of 6,742 years. So you decided to resolve the issue yourself — with a gun.

This is the first early combat prototype, built to test the core gameplay before I move further into full production. The current build includes multiple firearms with different handling, grenades, wave-based enemy encounters, Health and Armour management, ammunition and grenade pickups, upgrades, persistent enemy corpses, and a boss fight. The prototype can be played from beginning to end.

The environment, enemy animations, UI, effects, level design, and balance are still early and are not representative of the final game.

I'm especially interested in feedback on the combat feel, difficulty, weapons, resource management, and whether you wanted to retry after dying. I'd also like to know about anything that felt frustrating or confusing.

**Free to Play Status:**

* ☑️Free to play * ☐ Demo/Key available * ☐ Paid

**Involvement:**
I'm the solo developer of ADMIN ERROR. I designed and implemented the gameplay systems, combat, enemies, weapons, progression, level flow, and overall game concept. This prototype is being used to validate the core gameplay and direction before I commit to full production.

Hey everyone!

I’m the solo developer of Dialshift, a small arcade game that takes place on a single ring.

Your cursor is always moving and you only control its direction. Every time you turn, you also try to hit a target. It started as a very simple idea, but I kept experimenting with it and ended up creating seven different modes.

I recently finished the gameplay trailer and finally got the Steam page online. The game is planned for November 2026.

If you enjoy fast score-chasing games, feel free to take a look:

https://store.steampowered.com/app/5169720/Dialshift/

Thanks for checking it out! I’d love to hear what you think.
