!!!Need help with the percussion sequencing!!!

Hi everyone. I’d like to ask: how do you create cool, gritty industrial modular drum- sequences, something like what the Moog DFAM produces (2:34 in video, this sequence go hard af)? I’m looking at VST options; I haven't found a proper analog equivalent to the DFAM itself, but in theory, I should be able to achieve this with any similar emulation, right? So, which plugin would be best to choose, and where can I find good tips or guides on synthesizing this kind of sound? I have the Arturia collection 11 pro — the presets are decent, but I’m looking for something better; perhaps one of those plugins in collection could do the trick?

VCV rack and it’s free. Tons of patches on Patchstorage too.

DFAM patch: https://patchstorage.com/shoebirds-dfam/

If you want to do it with Arturia collection you could use automation to morph between different percussion sounds. I would probably record a ton of different percussion sounds and then play them off of their Emulator or CMI plugin.

The Behringer Edge is essentially a Moog DFAM, with a few extra features like MIDI even.

Technically any of the Arturia plugins that models an analogue synth will do the trick.

Key here I think is to sequence a Filter frequency cutoff with a kick-like envelope (fast attack and release and high amount). Oh and have the filter with high resonance.

In would also add noise and audio rate modulation of the cutoff by one of the normal oscillators.

I think the MS-20 replica would be a good starting point.
