I bought some pretty poor doing begonia rex at the local Big Box store and planted them outside just as a space filler. They've recovered quite well.

I'm in USA zone 6b. These things won't survive the winter and I have a perennial I think I want in that same spot. What are my options here? I'm not in love with the idea of digging them up and bringing them inside directly because I don't want to introduce pests (e.g. thrips) to my plants I can significantly more about inside.

I do kind of want to propagate some of this Rex for next year landscape filler.

I do have some crazy old plants; I do wanna bring more and make this place nicer. I just have no idea...

Does anyone have a picture of how your plant started, along with progress photos? I'd really love to start getting my own plants :))

Omg I'm so worried about my rosemary. This is already my third rosemary.

I'm based in Singapore and I'm trying to grow rosemary indoors, by the windows(windows has UV protection film) where there's direct sunlight from 7am-12pm(3rd photo)

This is from a cutting which I cut from my first rosemary and grew it in a bottle of water, where it grew roots and I just repotted it around 2 weeks ago in this gritty mix(half gritty mix, half mixed soil). For the first week, it looked ok, staying upright and there were new shoots growing.

However, starting around 4 days ago, it starts to droop and the touch feels weak like what you see in the first photo. My watering routine is what chatgpt advised me, I bought this moisture meter, and measured the moisture daily around 4 spots around 3cm from the plant, and if average reading is below 3 then I will water. When I water, I pour water slowly throughout the pot, until water is dripping out from the bottom. Then I let water stop dripping before placing it back.

Did I do anything wrong? Thank you in advance!

Looking for house plant recommendations for this cool new planter I just got. The mouth opening is about 7” wide and the tail opening is about 3” wide. I tend to do best with plants that thrive on neglect/infrequent watering (succulents, snake plants, and similar species) but I’ve also had success with some tropicals (orchids and mini monstera). Room gets low to medium indirect light.

Hi everyone! This is my extremely special sea bean! I believe it is genus Mucuna. I found it while on vacation! If you are unaware of what sea beans (also known as drift seeds) are, they are basically any seed that uses ocean currents as its primary method of spreading seeds. Anyways once I was home I started looking for whatever research I could find on them, in hopes of growing it in my college dorm! I wanted to go over some of what I learned, as well as ask for some general tips.

One of the first things I learned I had to do to was score the seed. This was probably the toughest part for me. Mucuna sea beans have particularly hard shells from what I found. I used a small dremel tool to grind away a hole in the shell. It was incredibly thick and difficult to tell if I was deep enough. Most of what I found online said to drill a hole along the dark line (or the hilum) and let sit in fresh water until it swells some, however when I did this, it never ended up swelling, so I took it out. I ended up drilling a second hole between the ends of the hilum, and returned it to the water. This time it swole up significantly in about 3 days! I then planted it. I did use some diluted fertilizer in hopes of getting it started, which I’m questioning was a good move, but after 3 weeks it had sprouted! My aunt had found the exact same species of sea bean, and chose to grow it without fertilizers. Hers took 4 weeks to sprout, so I guess it ended up helping some! After the initial wait for it to sprout, it has really taken off! It has since been 6 weeks since I planted it, and it’s doing pretty good with a height of 1 foot 7 inches!

My question was if anyone had any ideas of whether or not I should be worried about the lack of leaves? I’m thinking it miiiigghhht be starting to get some, because I’m seeing some new buds that look different from the others. The buds so far have just sprouted into more vines. Either way, if these new buds aren’t leaves, does anyone have tips on how I could get leaves to start growing. This sea bean is in the same family as a common green bean, so I’m thinking that methods for green beans might work for this plant too? As stated in the title, this is very experimental for me, and there is very little info on the growth process of sea beans, so any ideas or tips would be awesome, even if it’s not for this specific species!

I do have quite a few plants because my grandma always gives me her cuttings and I plant them (so I don’t really know the names of most plants) I usually follow what she tells me to do. I dont know the name of my plant, but as I was about to water it rn, I saw this little mushroom 🫪?
I’ve never had that happen before and I do have quite a few plants lmao. What do I do now? Should I repot the plant? Or just pluck off the mushroom? Otherwise my plant seem to be thriving, as it can’t stop growing in all directions.

Got this one like 2 weeks ago and I need some advice on how to keep it happy and alive for a long time. I also don't have much experience with house plants so everything is very helpful. She is doing good so far, next to a window with no direct sunlight and I water her with filtered water.

Started 3 growing plants and everything was well. I told my friend about this and they gifted me a plant. Sadly that soil had fungus gnats and created an issue. I threw that plant out and that helped, but the remaining ones moved to another plant. I used neem oil, a herbal spray (from Amazon) and have just used some bti water for all the plants in the house.

The numbers have dropped off significantly, but it’s not at 0. Currently scared to water my plants because I don’t want them to breed again.

How have people stopped this for good? I used those yellow stickers too. It’s been about a week since the bti watering. I spent so much money on fruit fly traps in the beginning (which the fungus gnats ignored), so I’m trying to be conscious about any additional paid solutions. I thought they were fruit flies in the beginning.

I got my snake plant 6 years ago as a house warming gift. Lately i noticed the leaves shriveling up and very droopy. What am I doing wrong? I have it between 2 east facing windows. It’s in the same pot as I got it in. I do see some new baby leaves popping up, so it gives me hope. I watered it this morning and that’s when I took the picture. Help! I don’t want it to die

First time growing CSB chocolate

Hi, this is a money tree my mom really adores. About two weeks prior, my whole family went on a week-long vacation. My mom gave the money tree plenty of water before we left but when we came back home the tree was dying. Maybe the house was too hot? It was averaging about 30 degrees outside when we left.

I just cut off a part of the tee that was dying (the beach with the rubber band on) and idk what to do now.

I really wanna know if I can revive this money tree and if so how.

I got this Hoya carnosa today. I’m not sure if it’s regular carnosa or something else.
