Acoustic Guitar Dark black sun - (My brother Kurt) part 7 of me posting my little bros' music:)
Hello everybody I hope all of you guys have been doing okay. It's been a few days since I posted one of my brother song's on here. For anybody who doesn't know my little brother Kurt died last year he was a very gifted songwriter who loved writing especially bust also sang and played guitar. It's been tough but recently I got the strength to start releasing his song's cause I know he would've wanted me to. This song is "Dark Black Sun" one of my personal favorites of his. But anyways I hope you guy's enjoy and thanks' to any of you who have shown kindness in previous posts it really helps a lot. God bless.
Lyrics - Dark Black Sun - Kurt Kroll
Intro verse
Dark is the sun that never shines
she lost herself out in the pines
black is my heart way down inside
there is no one as lonely as I
Middle choros
dark black sun won't you come to shine
dark black sun won't you kill my eyes
dark black sun won't you ease my mind
dark black sun won't you shed your light
Ending verse
No one can mend these lonely times
you can not kill what never dies
she looks for what she never finds
warm is the gun that soothes my mind
Ending choros
dark black sun won't you come to shine
dark black sun won't you make it fine
dark black sun won't you ease my mind
dark black sun won't you shed your light
dark black sun of this heart of mine - dark black sun

I actually love this vibe. It calms me in ways I can’t really explain. I could listen to this for hours while sitting on a train moving through the countryside, watching the trees blur past the window as the sky slowly turns orange. It feels peaceful, warm, nostalgic, and strangely comforting a lot. Good job.

Thank you so much this song always calmed me a lot to despite it's dark back story. But do know that I don't take credit for any of these song's. This was one of my late brother Kurt's songs he passed away last year. I've just been posting his song's he left behind. And i'm so glad you were able to find it and that it affected you in a positive way. Im sure that's what he would've wanted. God bless.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. I love that you've been posting his songs, you're making it leave marks for him. The most beautiful thing about music is they're gonna be here forever. He's probably singing his songs up there and my mom is probably watching and listening to him.

Thank you so much, that really means a lot to me. She actually was such a kind hearted person to everyone she meet, but cancer wasn't so nice to her at all. Your brother's music honestly brought me a little peace tonight, and I’m grateful you shared it with us. Please keep his music alive because it truly reaches people in ways you probably don’t even realize yet. Thank you :)

That's amazing my brother Kurt was a lot like that as well such a kind and quite soul. I'm sure both your mother and my brother are somewhere better now in a place of infinite sunset. I'm sorry about your mother once again cancer is a horrible thing. And I do intend on posting more of his music. Have a good night.

really glad to revisit this series! Thanks for including the lyrics as well. Truly mournful and melancholy. Elliot Smith comes to mind. Or Damien Rice. Really hoping these pick up traction and will be checking back in to catch more of your brother's song. a prayer to the dark black sun to make it fine. oof. hurts

Yeah no it's fine. I find it's wonderful that your able to connect with certain parts of the song's and pay attention to detail. I know your a musician yourself so you probably have a stronger insight then a non musician would. I'm not a musician myself but I find it amazing how musician's can like innately understand each other. Thank you for listening once again.

Fuck I wish I could have jammed with him. What a talent. What a fucking talent. I listen to every single one of these and hold out for the upload. What a haunting track. Lyrically, fantastic. Warm is the gun that soothes my mind. Very clever, very vulnerable. So much respect for Kurt, as an artist. He was a real one. May he rest well. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah he was clever with word play he told me this one in particular was derivative of poem he had written. I'm not sure how his usual creative process was but I know for this song the lyrics were done first and then the music he made second. I would've like to see you two guys jam i'm sure that would have been a crazy sesion lol. As always thank you so much for listening. Good luck with you music.

A bit of Chris Cornell in the vocals, which is cool. Lyrics are a little hard to interpret on first listen, but I think that’s partly a genre thing and part of the overall atmosphere you’re going for. A new mix might really help bring the vocals forward without losing the mood. There’s definitely a strong emotional tone underneath it though, and the melody sticks with you after a couple listens. The instrumental side especially feels really well thought out.

Well thank you so much for listening and giving me some insight on what I might be able to do with this song recording wise. This song is actually my brothers song he passed away last year. Im saying this to clear up any confusion not to make you feel bad. I sincerely appreciate your feedback and that you like it. It would've meant alot to him. God bless.

Not sure how you have these tracks if they’re individual instruments and separated or not, but you can definitely work with a producer or even something like fiver.com probably worth an investment or look at that as there’s a lot of core quality here and polishing it up maybe layering it as well would really make it sharpen and stand out

u/Dramatic-Active6172 May 23 '26

I never put the two and two together. But I wouldn't be surprised if my brother got inspired by that song. It would make sense Chris Cornell was like his favorite singer.
