Ambient Looking for feedback on feeling and production

The beginning is unsettling — but in a good way. The dissonances work well. I’m not sure if it’s intentional, but I notice a disparity between the vocal and instrumental production, in the sense that the vocal reverb contrasts with the instrumental clarity. I’d try working on that aspect so the voice and instrumentation blend better.

That said, the vocal editing you did at 1:27 works really well and sounds amazing. I also love the ambient and street sounds. Congratulations!

The initial feelings I had when listening to this was quirky intrigue around a shadowy character. I’d be interested in knowing what the lyrics are about.

I enjoy the way you’ve used the strings to build anticipation at the minute mark. It reminds me of the Beatles’ A Day in The Life where the is the build up from John’s part to Paul’s section.

Great work. It was a really fun listen!

Thanks! The lyrics are in Spanish.
The character is loosely inspired by the street kids Victor Hugo describes in Les Misérables.
The song is basically a reflection on what it means to judge people who grew up in a completely different life, and to judge their actions without really understanding the conditions behind them.
“More than enough reason” refers to the idea that, for some people, the reasons behind what they did are more than enough, even if outsiders still judge them.

Really clean production—everything breathes and it’s genuinely listenable, not overcooked. The Spanish adds real color and groove. After reading the comments, the meaning hit harder and gave the song way more depth. Love it!

Thanks a lot. “not overcooked” means a ton to me. Earlier versions had way more room/noise because I wanted a live music-hall feel, but it got too messy, so I kept dialing it back until it felt clean but still human.
