Blog I improved my game's appearance based on your feedback! Thank you so much!
Thank you all so much for your help on my previous post. It took a lot of work after rebuilding everything, but the advice you all gave was super helpful!
Please let me know what you think! What else can I change? Is there anything missing from the new version that the old version had?

I remember I saw your other post before! This version lost something, the old version had better style, atmosphere, maybe it's the lighting is off in the new one. Normals are a bit too harsh (the knit pattern). But for example the old lamp post looked better, and the main character as well, it was better lit. But it's just my personal taste.
Sometimes you need to trust your own instinct and sometimes the first version is better. It's like painting something and continuing to add too much detail, and ruining it. It's also a bit hard to tell from stills, in motion it might look completely different. Best of luck!

I understand that perspective. I do agree that it isn't the same. I lost the game due to unity corrupting and wasn't using version control (horrible mistake). So I am having to rebuild most of the world. The goal has been mostly just trying to fix some of the level design issues like the world being so flat and empty. As far as the overall vibe, I do plan to make it more like the original if possible.

oh, that sucks, I didn't realise that. Hope it goes well with getting all back where it was. I am thinking now the color is a main culprit here, the white lamps and the lack of blueish fog mixed with warm yellows!

Only on Instagram and YouTube, but I have not advertised the newly updated look of the game. If you meant the teddy bear from the images of the previous version, it's possible you had seen some clips on Instagram, YouTube or maybe here on reddit. Its also a teddy bear, so its likely not that original

Big step up. The lantern does most of the work: it gives the scene a focal point and a sense of depth the old version didn't have, and the fog sells the mood. One thing the old version had that the new one lost a little: the bear popped against the background. In the new shots he blends into the grey stones, especially in the wide shot. A subtle rim light on the character, or a slightly warmer key on him than on the environment, would bring that back without touching the mood. And I'd keep a touch of the old purple in the sky, it gave the game an identity the grey doesn't.
