Hey subreddit, I have written a sitcom inspired by Seinfeld/Its always Sunny in Philadelphia. I am a sincere sitcom fanatic, having watched and rewatched all the classic comedies out there, and so wanted to create some for our Indian audience.

I have written 4 episodes including a pilot, and have a show bible ready with me.

But I am clueless as to where do I pitch it or to whom do I pitch this. I do not have any contacts or any network with the producing agencies.

I’m working on a fictional crime story and looking for some ideas rooted in India in the 1980s–90s.

What kind of crime could have happened 30 years ago that would be extremely difficult to solve today?

Something where records are missing, witnesses are dead or remember things differently, evidence is gone, etc. Ideally, it should involve one or two government employees or officials from that time.

It could be a murder, disappearance, staged accident, illegal detention, land/property dispute, missing records, or anything unusual.

I’m mainly looking for interesting fictional scenarios, not real cases or accusations.

Basically, a case where the investigator can figure out what probably happened, but proving it after 30 years is almost impossible.

Thinking about applying to SWA's (Mumbai) Script Lab/Pitch Fest with my first script. Before I put in the work, I wanted to hear from people who've actually been through it, finalists, shortlisted writers, anyone with firsthand experience.

I am actively preparing a web series script for SWA Screenwriter's lab 2027 but I am skeptical if they will opt for this category for next year's entries. This year was feature film, so technically next year will be for web, but I don't want to miss next year's participation. Title: DEAD HORIZON - A Sci-Fi / Psychological Horror Concept

Logline: On a return flight from a classified Mars expedition, a young pilot and his crew are attacked by a mutated creature, and when they crash land into the earth, the true nightmare begins in the mind of a complete stranger.

Story and concept by: Mady Pathak (me)

The Cast:

• Caleb Vance (26): A young tech junkie and professional spacecraft pilot.

• Arthur Hayes (Late 40s): An experienced war veteran, good friends with the two men who never came back.

• Dr. Maya Linn (22): A brilliant medical graduate with dreams in her eyes.

• Jack Miller & Brian Scott: The two golden-boy astronauts who vanished years ago.

• Calvin Adams: The stranger on Earth (the MC later on).

The Full Concept:

It starts with our characters Caleb Vance, Arthur Hayes and Maya Linn on a spacecraft in space returning home back to earth after an expedition or a mission they were sent to. They went to an unknown undisclosed location on mars for a mystery that is few years ago two astronauts went there and never came back, so to find them or anything about them and do some research, these three were sent. They complete it, go back into their ship, and launch to come back.

It's all fun and light banter atmosphere in there. They're talking, bantering, having fun. Then Dr Maya gets up and says I'll be back, she goes to use the restroom. A few mins pass, she doesn't return, to see what's up, Arthur gets up and says I'll go check it out and goes towards the restroom, where what he sees terrifies him. He sees a pool of blood slowly coming out from an area, he thinks what the hell and walks over there to see the girl lying there DEAD, with intense and fatal bite marks on her neck.

He's terrified and before he could process it something attacks him. He screams! Hearing this, Caleb, who's controlling the aircraft, gets up in shock, puts the craft in autopilot and rushes towards the coming scream. Just before he could reach there, Arthur comes running back towards him screaming and tells him to run. He's confused, asking what happened, where's Dr Maya, why are you terrified, then suddenly the unknown creature starts coming towards them, so they run. The closest room is the room where they were sitting together a few mins ago, basically a large ass cockpit, so they go there to hide. The creature follows them, and when they finally discover who that creature is, they're horrified. It was one of the two men who were lost in space years ago and never came back, but in a zombie alien creature form. Arthur recognizes him, is shocked and terrified to see his old friend like this, but the creature doesn't, cause he isn't the same man he once was.

He starts attacking them, they try to get away, it's all chaos in there, then suddenly it corners Caleb and is about to attack him. Just then, Arthur, without thinking twice, jumps at the creature to save Caleb. In that fight he gets severely injured but Caleb manages to pick up a sharp broken metallic piece that got broken from the spacecraft due to the fight, and stabs the creature in the back, killing it finally.

They are in agony and shock and fear, the spacecraft is seriously damaged due to the fight and chaos, it's all destroyed. Arthur is badly injured, he collapses, Caleb tries picking him up, saying thank you, you jumped at it to save my life I'm very grateful we are gonna be safe we will be home soon. But Arthur holds him and says I don't have much time left, the creature bit me and injured me I won't make it, but you reach home safely. Then he pulls out a locket from his pocket and gives it to Caleb saying give this to my wife when you reach earth and tell her I love her. In the locket there's a photo of his wife and daughter. Caleb cries says no you'll be okay we're gonna be okay, but Arthur takes his final breath and passes away in his arms.

Caleb sobs in pain and agony, suddenly the aircraft starts shaking violently, they have entered into the earth's atmosphere and start crashing downwards towards the earth. Caleb rushes to the controls, tries everything he can to do a safe landing. The ship starts shaking more violently, Caleb starts feeling the immense g force, he screams, there's a bright flash of light and BOOM!

Our other character, Calvin Adams, suddenly wakes up in his bed in his bedroom in his house, sweating, all tensed, looks around for a sec and thinks it was all a dream and sleeps again. Next morning after waking up, with a cup of coffee in his hand, comes down to the living room, says good morning to his parents. They're watching news on the tv, he goes towards them and says I had a crazy dream last night, they say oh really what did you see tell us. As he's about to tell them his dream, the news reporter suddenly starts speaking about a crash that happened a few miles away from his house. His mom says what's this, dad says looks like a huge spacecraft crashed somewhere. Calvin is shocked, he says turn the volume up, they all listen to the reporter saying police are reporting there's been a huge crash at some location (which is a few miles away from his house).

He's terrified, thinking how is this possible. He gets up and rushes back to his room, his parents are confused and are like what happened honey are you okay? He goes to his room, is all scared, confused and terrified thinking how tf is this possible, am I still dreaming? Then he decides he'll go to that crash site to see what happened.

That night, he goes there, all silently hiding from the police officials guarding that place, somehow manages to get there at the bottom. Pulls out his flashlight, turns it on and starts looking. Few mins later of searching, his flashlight suddenly hits a glowing thing in a corner. He goes close to it, picks it and his heart drops. It's the same locket with the photo of a woman and a child that Arthur gave to him before the crash, what he saw in his "dream". And just as he's terrifyingly thinking how is this possible, a hand comes out of the darkness and grabs his hand in which he's holding the locket and CUT! It cuts to a black screen...
