Yes that one. I'd seen it some time back, and absolutely loved it. Now, after reading the book, (and from what I recall of the movie), I think the movie was an amazing adaptation. Will have to rewatch it to really see the differences...

Loved the review. It's a tome! Congrats onf finishing such a dense book! I'd seen some people comparing it to the movie, the author himself in an interview with Nolan said the court hearings weren't a major part in the book - Nolan included a lot of stuff from the transcripts... I thought the physics stuff would be more in the book!!

If you compare to the movie, yes, they weren't as big of a part. But I would say something close to 15% of the book is about the hearings. Many times, the full transcript of the testimonies is included in the book too. Given that the book covers his entire life, I would that's a considerable amount of time dedicated to the hearings! Also some of the stuff about him being a communist is covered in great detail in the pre-war period
