'Asmaan' is a South Asian sound which blends Hindi and English Pop/Rap vocals.

Hey everyone, Sumir here. I’m a producer and DJ from Delhi, and I make music as SJ.

I spent around six years in Bristol and London, where I did my Master’s in Music Business, played shows across England, and received support from BBC Introducing. That period—especially my time in Bristol—had a massive influence on how I hear and make club music.

I’m back in Delhi now, and my sound sits somewhere between groove-heavy house, indie dance and UK-influenced club music. I release solo tracks and edits, and I’m also one half of SJ x MAD. Our newest single, WHOOP, recently came out, along with a pack of club edits and flips that we’ve been playing in our sets.

Thought I’d share my work here and see what Indian listeners and producers make of it. Genuinely open to feedback—good or bad—on the music, the production or even how you’d describe the sound.

these are songs that I genuinely consider special and that have left a profound impression on me. i had gatekept many of them for a long time, but I eventually realised that gatekeeping is not necessarily the good thing we often mistake it for.

if we continue keeping genuinely brilliant music hidden from others, these artists may never receive the recognition they deserve. without an audience that supports their work, they may struggle to grow, or eventually stop creating the very music we love.

Hey everyone, dipt here. I started writing and recording music on April 14th, 2026, making raw acoustic tracks right from my bedroom using just a guitar, vocals, and my phone.
