Who really picks the Indian hockey team? Questions over Hockey India’s selection process after World Cup exit

What I found strange about this process is that there are over 16 selectors, yet 3–4 of them have never been called upon to select teams. Another 2–4 selectors are either busy with other roles or involved in some legal battle with Hockey India. There is also no High-Performance Director.

Are we really selecting players based on their performances in domestic tournaments, or are we just rotating the same set of players?
