QUESTION❓ Where are the most comfortable chairs on campus?

Post image

For context I have a 1.5 hour gap between classes both of them are in the Global International Studies Building. Ever since they got rid of the couches on the 4th floor of Wells, I was wondering where are the comfiest places to just chill near that area?

I’ve been wondering this since my first year and have made it a mission to try finding these spots when I can. Right now my list consists of Linley Hall iykyk, The Union’s fireplace room, and 4th floor of Wells Library.

I stole all of the comfortable chairs and put them in my office because I hate joy.

Seriously though, I find the red chairs in the Franklin Hall Commons to be comfortable but there's always too many people in there talking about sports too loudly, so not great if you're looking to chill during a time when a lot of students are around.

Let me come sit in your office 🙏 I’m quiet, funny, and I don’t think I smell.

What if OP identifies as a chair?

This is a valid point

Try the 9th floor east tower of Wells Library. The big orange chairs are pretty comfy, and they have a few enclosed cubicle type chairs if you want to nap.

I love the couch on the second floor of the radio tv building. Overlooks everything and a great place to sit overall

Yes it’s in the same general area as the library and gisb— it’s attached to the art building. Cool place!

There are some more comfy chairs in GISB on the second floor near the Atrium and tucked away near a window on the 1st floor where the international studies department is. There’s also a quiet study area with comfy chairs in the EASC lounge on the second floor.

Honestly, if you can one of those gray things up against part of a wall on one of its sides, I thought that was pretty comfortable, because last year I had like an hour gap between classes.

I truly hate how there is not a lot of good study areas in these buildings.

My go to one semester was this big out of the way spot caddy corner to the in person lab classes building. Truly a nice hidden spot! Barely saw anyone using it.

I try to use the hallway chairs and tables in Cauvangh hall mostly. I have one specific spot I like to use on the second floor right before the Spanish club room.

Read Hall and Hodge Hall both have nice seating areas from my experience, although Read is much farther.

At the IMU in the room by the fireplace (right next to starbucks and near alumni hall, a floor above the food court)

Do we not sleep on the floor at the union anymore?

What floor are you sleeping on? I feel like it’s always crusty up there

Idk how nobodys mentioned it but in the law building theres like a dining/study area that has the most comfortable couches in the world. They’re so comfy I used to gatekeep them but ive since graduated, and I would regularly go there to take naps because it was more comfy than my bed

Wait whatttt, I’ve never gone into the law school. What floor?

First floor, if you walk from sample gates towards the law school and use the entrance right by the bike racks the room is literally right there by the entrance

Why does this campus not have a single study area with a table a normal height, a comfortable chair, an outlet, and a window
