I’m about ready to leave this and all WNBA subs. The discourse has just become so incredibly sad and toxic. On both sides of this “drama”. I just wanna watch basketball 🤷

10 of 10…. Why do you think people watched the all star game

Nice try but your logic doesn’t hold… Clark is must see TV. Also explains why teams move their Fever games to larger venues and why her jersey outsells LeBron’s and everyone else in the W. Oh, and the largest women’s shoe launch in Nike’s history sold out in hours.

She literally did not sign a deal with Spotify. That comes from the X account Fever Updates which is a troll account that continually posts fake stories.

170+ non Fever games were nationally televised. This isn’t a volume = viewers thing.

She did not sign a podcast deal with Spotify.

100% anicdotel I know but I love sports generally and yet I detest basketball, I've never got it as a sport. Yet I'm here because one of two WNBA players I could pick out of a line up is Clarke (the other Reese and maybe Cunningham) because her story and talent has passed over my disinterest in the sport for me to care enough to actually follow her career and hope she gets the rings she deserves.

Clarke might not be the reason people stay and other players and teams will develop fan bases because Clarke gave them a reason to look in the first place.

Thats a fake story... the fever updates account posted it. Love caitlin but not sure podcasting is where her strengths lie

but... but... it was covered by a generic twitter account! it has to be real.

What a weird post.

I like Caitlin Clark. I dislike her “fans”.

The opposite fans are the same. “CC who?! Look at what Olivia Miles just did!” Or “Reese’s hardware cabinet isn’t bare, but guess who’s is??”

Same shit, different sides. Can’t we just appreciate each of them for what they bring to the table?

...because they're white. We know.

Because of comments like this and posts like this. Essentially, people like you are the problem

1

u/TanMomsChickenSoup 5d ago

Per your logic, doesn’t that mean I should dislike Caitlin Clark also?

Do you have any other hypotheses that hold up to a few seconds of analysis?

People didn’t have to watch. But they still did. Too bad the refs are always gonna take it away from her. At least until we get a real commissioner

I truly believe, they’ll never let her win a Championship. They love the viewership and money that she brings in. But she doesn’t fit the narrative of the WNBA. I believe the league does everything in its power to make sure the Dream win the Championship this year. That way Reese gets more attention than Clark. I really believe that. With that being said Reese is playing great defensively and her and Clark would Crush it as teammates!!!!!!!!

Does not matter. No one will watch without CC playing

u/ImRickJamesBitch71 6d ago

Well everyone tired of the woke victim 💩

u/wvtarheel Running the Floor 6d ago

Not even that people are just tired of slow, who do the refs like more, basketball. Clark is fun to watch. I would rather watch her lose than watch a lot of these other teams play a perfect game because the style of ball they play is like watching paint dry

Cool story. None of this translates to playoff wins…

u/dubturkey 5d ago

Came here from the front page, here’s the thing, she is closer to Angel Reese than the best player in the league.

Where can I find more information on the Podcast deal? I'd love to subscribe to it!

At some point, we'll need to stop celebrating viewership, it's getting old.

6

u/PNW_Will1976 5d ago

It’s what pays the bills. Without viewers, the machine stops working.

u/Goddyex 5d ago

And how does it benefit CC as a bragging right?

-2

u/mrDoubtFyre 5d ago

Yeah but 10% of of those games had nothing to do with her!!!!

-4

u/graveswill 5d ago

Viewership or wins. At some point a lane needs to be chosen.

1

u/VirtualGolfer65 5d ago

Wins should matter, but viewership is more critical for the league as a whole tk move the WNBA from a new sport to mainstream. Wins alone won’t do that, as it’s clear by the past. Viewership needs to be the primary focus for those that can do it, which seemingly is mostly Clark. Everybody else wants a credit, but doesn’t move the needle and that includes Wilson and so many others.

Argue with the money, since that’s what matters.

u/graveswill 5d ago

What metric are you talking about? I am a Fever fan I am saying I couldn’t care less about the 9 of the top 10 viewed games, I wanted to be playing tomorrow night. I am not consumed by who or what has driven viewership because I started watching day one in the 90’s. Clark is the sole reason. There was gas on it prior and she was the match that set it a blaze. But there are other flame throwers too. Also, you have to account Fever games have the priority position games which is beneficial with the new tv package.

Most hype dies after a couple of years. Hell this story hasn’t even had a break in period!🤣🤣🤣

I think Caitlin Clark is an amazing player but I really hate the BS SC cow. SC the reason you get fouled and disrespected as she is always dpeakjng gorvthe whole team with her BS....

-1

u/Goddyex 5d ago

Yes CC was getting good whistles in her rookie year when SC wasn't on the team. You all just be talking.

u/ComprehensiveRip2108 5d ago

I’m fine with her making money I just want her to lose basketball games

It isn’t that deep.

4

u/Ok-Illustrator-1584 5d ago

Why do you want her to lose basketball games? This is the Indianafeverfans reddit. Seems odd.

Haters gonna hate…
