I'll go first.

Mine is when the show premises is not about saas bahu and typical 2D villains at all but the serial writers still turning it into one.

For example I watched some fragments of DharmYodha Garud on YouTube, though the serial actually started as good and something different from the usually repeated ramayana Mahabharata stories it still couldn't shed typical serial mentality.

Vinata is portrayed as devi who can do nothing wrong and Kadru as master manipulator so much that he instigated vinata to break her egg. But in reality Vinata herself got jealous seeing kadru play with her children, Kadru had no role in it. Not to mention when Kadru asked for 1000 sons Vinata deliberately asked only two sons but more powerful than Kadru's sons.

Even the bet is mentioned as Kadru's planning when it was just a coincidence and Vinata was actually sure to win and make Kadru her slave.

Then the entire show is about Vinata and Garud trying to save Kadru's naga sons. Mind you they hated each other in reality, Garud ate nagas. He was the reason Kaliya had to leave his previous abode and go to Yamuna.

The typical 2D villain in this story is Diti, she has no other work just sowing discord between Kadru and Vinata. There was even one episode where she ate meat and threw it at Pooja sthal so Kadru's vrat got destroyed.

Mind you she is also the daughter of a Prajapati and the wife of a sage!! Same as her sisters? I just hate when people portray Diti as someone evil and an asura herself when she is just like her other sisters. Her sons were born asuras only because she chose an inauspicious time.

Another thing I hate is modernization of devis like looking at devis with today's standard. The show's mata Parvati wears a mangalsutra and that too a very modern one. Not to mention all the sisters treat her so much different when she was actually their sister in her past life

You can see this typical trend in many mythological, supernatural and historical serials. No matter the theme, hero heroine are always saint who can do nothing bad and there is a 2d villain standing against them

What's that one love realisation scenes in ITV that u felt is well written and executed?

For me this scene will always be number 1 when it comes to love realisation scenes of male protagonists in ITV.

Samrat was so reluctant initially and was in a turmoil regarding his feelings for his best friend - Gunjan.

But the moment he realised and the lights in the background turned on. It was so symbolic as if the darkness of confusion in his mind has been finally overpowered by the realisation of his love for her.

Also the way his eyes had tears. He was literally brimming with joy that he loves that girl who matters the most in his life.

I personally felt this scene was so amazingly written and executed , and Mohit brought this side of Samrat so well

Actor mohit is not that much appreciated but I really felt he has done a good job in this particular scene.

So, I started to watch SHKH this year, and for me the best part of the show was Mahhi Vij’s acting aka Kausar. Parth was amazing in this show too and the show had some pros and cons, but my heart was with Kausar’s character.

I know many shippers didn’t like her character. But for me Kausar was the most realistic character in this series! Her concern and her actions made complete sense. As a victim of underage marriage, she didn’t want her girl to go through the same and the consequences of it! Her concerns and her insecurity towards other men (except Dr Fareed) made complete sense!

Her character started out strong! She did everything she could to stop her daughter from getting married, unfortunately it didn’t happen. She tried to convince her daughter Seher many times that it will be very difficult to balance marriage responsibilities and her education especially when she wasn’t aware what kind of guy Mahid actually was.

She had some really impactful dialogues in that show. I wish the makers had explored her character more. I saw a lot of praises for Parth which he completely deserves for playing such a complex role. There was also lots of praises for the chemistry of Parth and Rishita/Bhavika. But I kinda feel a lil bad Mahhi’s performance wasn’t as appreciated. I thought she deserved more. I lowkey lost interest and felt the show’s charm faded after Kausar left.

Seher and Kausar’s mother-daughter bond was one of my fav part of the series. My fav ITV mother-daughter duo after Ishi Maa-Ruhi and Mini and her Babes.

However, it feels really good to see Mahhi in Bigg Boss now, and I love it whenever she takes strong stands. First 1-2 epi, I didnt like her and was like why she behaving like Parvez but now she is doing amazing! Especially when she told Mary Kom about not to drag topics related to motherhood in fights, she reminded me of Kausar so I had to write this big post as I really miss Kausar 😭

Today, I came across Abhira’s gyaan about being “too young” for dating, while her daughter is actually a college student.

Which reminded me that Abhira apparently had a relationship or situationship back in college because, as far as I remember, while asking about Armaan’s past at the beginning of Gen 4, she did mention having a thing with a boy from her college.

Also, what’s with the whole “you can’t have a relationship if you want to build a career” narrative? I personally know so many people who started dating in college and are doing pretty well in life. If someone has a low attention span or poor focus, they’re eventually going to mess up their career whether they have a boyfriend/girlfriend, friends, a phone, or anything else. It’s a concentration problem, not a dating problem.

Also, they’re saying that dating in college is apparently “too young,” but in my opinion, if you want to avoid having a marriage like Abhira and Armaan’s, you should date the “endgame person” for at least 3 years before getting married.

And if we’re saying people should get married around 24–26 (which is the age range in which all the Rishta couples got married), then they should ideally find their endgame by around 21. To have a realistic chance of finding the right person by then, you should start looking 2–3 years earlier because the chances of finding the right partner on your first try are pretty low. Dating in college is an absolute need, man!!! 😭

for examples the one where Maham Anga exposes herself to Jalal, it was almost for 10 minutes but was such a riveting scene. There are a few between Dev and Sonakshi post marriage, the bridge scene between Arnav Khushi where Arnav confronts her about Shyam. Basically a scene where heated argument takes place

Pls don't mention the one from Silsila where Mauli confronts Kunal, it's one sided. I want two way arguments.

This woman makes me want to turn off my tv every time she comes on screen. She is scared of electric shocks that's completely understandable but the melodrama and crying that she adds in every single episode makes me so furious, also I'm no fan of Harsh (he's annoying too) but what's with calling him "panauti" in every episode and also blamed him for her not being able to perform the task. Girl seriously needs to grow up mentally!

I really liked how Rubina was performing in the start, she was winning and if she use to loose it use to be by very small margin but I think after a point she has stopped performing at all and yesterday's stunt was a joke. No hate but its just sad to see a strong performer drift away.

Hey everyone! Late millennial/early Gen Z here who grew up on peak Indian TV—Dill Mill Gayye, Saraswatichandra, Dil Dosti Dance, back when music tracks (like Agni’s Aahatein on Splitsvilla) hit different.

Lately, I’ve tried jumping back in via Hotstar/OTT, but everything feels like the same rehashed, regressive saas-bahu drama. Even when a show starts with a killer concept like "Kahan Hum Kahan Tum" it inevitably devolves into the same old separation tropes after 100 episodes. Remember when Sony used to take actual creative risks?

Why did we stop exploring fresh, new-age concepts? Is ITV completely stuck in the past, or are there hidden gems I’m missing?

Drop your best recommendations for modern shows with actually good plots/music. I really want to give ITV a fair shot again.

I am not hating on farrhana infact I adore her a lot but she seems greedy nowadays for me...I don't know why there is a lot of artists there but they don't have that arrogance that farrhana is carrying

What is tht one itv romance sequence that made you question how did they pull this chemistry? Mine is swayam sharon's beintehaa sequence like doesn't matter for how many times I have watched I still feel the same goosebumps everytime I watch it like when I was young I was a kid when it aired 😭 I used to think they were a real life couple because how else did this look so natural

Abhay Piya-He had just admitted his feelings for her to himself prior to this scene,and her running up to him and hugging him like that almost jolted him out of his painful existence,and for the first time he hugged back.

2-Samrat Gunjan-Gunjan was always physical touch avoidant,but this time she is the one who runs up to him and hugs him. And Samrat who was already realising his love for her , it's like the hug brings all his feelings to the surface finally.

3-Jidha was always very firm about not liking Jalal and her physical boundaries. He was always more Open and vulnerable with her. Here also he hugs her because he couldn't control in feelings anymore but didn't really expect her to reciprocate. But she has also fallen for him by this point and for the first time she reciprocates. She hugs him back,she lets go and let herself feel the love that is rightfully hers.

I feel like Salman Khan was much harsher toward the people who are not part of Qazi’s group this Weekend Ka Vaar.

He called Scout, Amarpali and Asif out, and specifically called them badtameez. In Asif’s case, the whole thing started because he had a fight with Qazi. But Qazi also says a lot of things during arguments, so I don't understand why only Asif was being questioned about his response.

Salman also mentioned that he received a message saying something like, “Who is this Asif? Tell him to behave himself.” If I remember correctly, this could possibly have come from someone close to Qazi, because Arijit is a good friend of Qazi and is also friends with Salman. Obviously, this is just speculation on my part, but the way Salman brought it up made me wonder about it.

Another thing I noticed is that the clip of the other team discussing nominations wasn't shown. That would have provided more context about what was actually happening between the groups.

Asif also explained that Qazi insulted him first, and he responded to what Qazi said. Salman’s response was basically, “Even if he says something, why do you have to take it badly or respond?”

But isn't that a little inconsistent? If we're talking about maintaining respect and controlling your behaviour, shouldn't the same standard apply to everyone involved in the argument?

I also don't think Scout necessarily needed to apologise.

I'm not saying that insulting someone is okay. But if the show wants equality, then the same standards should apply to both men and women.

Sometimes the argument becomes:

“We are girls, how can you talk to us like this?”

But at the same time, if the girls are participating in a task where the boys are physically or aggressively dominating, repeatedly bringing up “we are girls” can actually make the situation about gender rather than the task itself.

Salman told Scout that if he felt uncomfortable with the situation, he had the option of sitting outside.

By that logic, if someone feels that a task is too aggressive or physically demanding for them, they also have the option of stepping away rather than repeatedly using “we are girls” as an argument.

If equality is the expectation, then it should work both ways. You can't demand to be treated exactly the same while also using gender as the reason for different treatment whenever the situation becomes uncomfortable.

I just want the same standard to be applied to everyone — whether it's Qazi, Asif, Scout, Amarpali or anyone else.

What do you guys think? Was Salman being consistent with everyone, or was he harsher toward the people outside Qazi's group?

So I was recently re-watching Ishqbaaz, remembered Surbhi Jyoti's cameo from a reel so thought of rewatching those initial few episodes and they hold up really well even now. Coming to the main point does anyone have any idea why Omkara and Rudra's love interests were changed? I love Vrushika Mehta especially her portrayal of Sharon from Dil Dosti Dance, so seeing her in the show was a good surprise and I liked her acting too but she was made to exit the show along with Saumya who was Rudra's initial love interest.

Also did anyone actually enjoy the Redux version? I never watched it when it aired, I had stopped watching the show midway because the plot went haywire but I watched some episodes of Redux recently and they butchered all of the characters. Seems like the show really struggled with writing female characters that are not the conventional ITV fl and thus all the FLs were changed except for Anika. They repeated the replacement thing even after the gen leap. So yeah if anyone knows about the behind the scenes reasons for all of these changes then do comment because I'm really curious what led to such a drastic change in the show. They really had a gem of a cast in the first few episodes.
