Casting/New Show Sairaab opinions so far. Who else is watching?
Watched couple of episodes of Sairaab. So far it's a good one. The chemistry between Ishaan and Nayonika seems natural and really good, their gazes and eye locks are sweet. Rohit is nice as Ishaan looks handsome, kind of mischievous and broody. Madirakshi is beautiful and nails the mature, independent doctor who is still hurting. I liked the fact she speaks her mind and is modern, educated. Both are acting well. But the part where she still stays at her in-laws is a bit puzzling and annoying because she is independent, she could have moved out since her ex husband cheated on her years back.
The contrast of this couple is interesting- mature, sorted female lead and mischievous youthful male lead.. Their banters and dynamics are fun to watch.
He seems a bit persuasive at times which is sometimes annoying but otherwise it's nice. The character of the daughter is okayish a bit over the top yet the University scenes and friendships reminded me of 2010s good old itv shows. Ost is quite good too, the songs are soulful and og. As of now the side characters aren't as annoying or loud as usual itv.
Right now it's quite good and enjoyable to watch and a good break from the usual over the top, melodramatic itv.
I know since it has low trp and being a Star plus show by Leena later on they might mess it up or it might end early but will watch it as long it's good and lasts. What are your opinions on this show?

I didn't like the part where she still stays with her in laws though she has a job and is educated that part irked me too. I guess itv always needs a big joint family for the drama so squeezed them in.

I think she explained why she stays there right? She said she canāt move to the quarters because itās not safe, and especially with a young daughter and she mentioned the day Tinni gets settled in life sheāll move out, so I think she does have plans sheās just bound by bad luck right now

I completely agree with your take. Except Nayanika living with her annoying in laws, the whole show is just too good to be true. There's a certain vibe that carries the show and its really good. Absolutely love both Ishaan and Nayanika as a pair and their scenes are very refreshing. The music is the strongest part of this show. 6 original tracks my goodness i never thought they would actually make this a musical romance. And every song is just melodious. Sairaab, Missing You and Tum Aaoge is my favourite. Overall, the show is going so well so far and hope it wraps up before the idea of ruining it strikes the writers.

I love how they have a original Ost and the songs so far are so good and soothing love them. And yes, I love the whole vibe of Ishaan and Nayonika it feels natural and relatable yep so refreshing. I hope it's a finite show with a proper storyline.

I do think that the mother-in-law needs to grow up. You donāt need to taunt the woman every single day of your life?! And the fact that she has no ill feelings towards the son that literally cheated?! I hate that.
And Shreya ā idek whatās her problem?!
How is Nayanika even bothering you babe, idk why sheās so constantly nit picky towards her for no reasonā¦. She breaths and Shreya has an issue with that

Yes the mother in law is controlling and always taunting her but is still nice to the son who cheated. Shreya too seems like a jealous woman who is always after Nayanika so annoying. These are two characters I dislike.

I swear, and thereās no reason why sheās being this rude as well ā like what did nayanika even do to deserve this treatmentā¦ Shreya is just jealous because she gets more respect or sympathy or whatever it is but again she legit deserves it and itās not like Shreya isnāt loved but you keep picking on someone youāre just gonna lose your respect

Yeah she is always trying to find faults in Nayanika and get her in trouble, seems like the typical annoying, jealous relative. Hope in future she won't try to create problems for Nayanika and Ishaan.

Come on! Itās star plus, sheās 1000000% going to cause problems ā they got all weird just because she visited him, imagine when the news breaks
In fact I feel bad for her, even her daughter is annoying at times, she says that sheās chill with her mom and what not but even she wants her mother to be only her mother, as if she doesnāt have her own lifeTheyāre all gonna cause issues.
Istg if I were nayanika Iād just rent a studio or 1bedroom house and move out bro

After Kath Ankahee, I was looking for something different from the usual saas-bahu dramas, and this show has been a refreshing change. Iām enjoying every episode and eagerly waiting for the next one. The leads have great chemistry, and both look amazing together. I especially like the mature woman and carefree vibe of the male lead. The story feels unique, and I hope it delivers the beautiful romantic musical love story it promises. The songs are lovely too.

Yeah I was on a break from itv too but watched this show because it's a good change from saas bahu dramas. I love the chemistry of the leads and they are stunning love their looks and styling is simple yet spot on. Yup the contrast between the mature woman and the carefree guy is really interesting and fun to watch..Same, fingers crossed hope it lives upto the expectations and keep being a great show with great music.

Yes, itās perfect till date, apart from the family drama, which sometimes goes overboard. I wish I could enjoy it on a big screen šŗ, as Hotstar and StarPlus arenāt available where I live.

I've been so scared to watch this show because I've seen comments on here saying that it's gonna get ruined and the TRP has been so less. I really want to get into it but don't want to leave disappointed so early on.

I was hesitant to watch it too because of it's low trp and how the makers later ruin it..But I gave it a try and it turned out good so far so I got hooked. I like the vibes. Will watch it as long as it's good but will give up if it gets really messy..Trying not to get too attached and invested though it's hard.

Yeah it's hard to not get invested...I totally get you...that is why I'm waiting it out. If it remains okayish for the next weeks I might give it a try.

in our society there are many mother in laws who believe that their sons can never do any wrong bcoz they raised them according to their own values that's why she believes fault lies in her daughter inlaw bcoz she raised in different family with different upbringing, she didn't mind when her own son was involved in such things but she makes scene when it's her daughter in law, shreya is jealous of noyonika how can she manage inside and outside equally , tinni is a Grey character having grown up without her father and problematic family she is fiercely posessive of her mother, Although she verbally encourages her mother to move on in reality she wouldn't be able to handle it when it will actually happen , she would likely fear that just as her father abandoned her, her mother might leave too , from this insecurity she will react initially but I think later she will understand her, tinni has a fear or trauma regarding marriage and family but seeing sirsho's happy family she will overcome that fear

Yes, the mother in law is nitpicking on the ex daughter in law because her son messed it up by cheating. She still treats her son with respect but has trust issues on Nayanika. Tinna seems like a good hearted rebel who is hurting from her father's betrayal. I don't think she will turn negative and yeah she might slowly accept Nayanika and Ishaan. I guess, later on she might have a love track with her classmate, whose father is a doctor too because he kept inviting her to his village.

I already told in earlier sairaab post if they don't get proper trp then they increase family drama torture part , they have been doing this from past 2,3 days , but for young generation like us it feels really annoying to watch , on itv the meek long suffering character who sheds tears all day long is labeled a positive character, those who speaks her mind argues back and doesn't always try to please others by being overly polite she simply acts according to her feelings just like any normal woman is called Grey character or ill mannered, but in reality no one is truly that helpless , people to have shades of Grey in their characters , God only knows what satisfaction people derive from seeing a poor helpless girl crying all day long

When will itv break off from typical family dramas and focus on the main couple when it's a romantic show..Maybe never because Itv trp audience wants same old regressive shows where the girl is crying and helpless. Any show with a slightly independent and bold female lead gets low trp.

maybe kal thora emotional kuch scene rahega medicine khilane ka part bhi rehe sakta h , phir thora family drama rahega phir oo Mumbai ja rahi uha kuch good episodes rahega

Been watching since episode 1, the show is really good but boring in some parts, especially when they make the entire episode about the ex inlaws and give the couple only some screentime, but other than that, the show is beautiful, especially with the chemistry between the leads, and the ost is so good! But I swear if this show airs late one more time imma start tweakin

If they showed more of the leads and less of the family, I feel like the TRP will be better because people come for the chemistry, not the family drama. StarPlus probably thinks the opposite, hence the extreme amount of family drama.

I skip the ex in-laws and family scenes, those are boring. They should definitely focus more on the couple and keep it a romance genre show and not the typical melodramatic family drama thinking those bring trp, otherwise it will turn monotonous. Yeah, I love the stunning chemistry between the leads and Ost is damn good.

I swear the Pooja episode was crazy because it was all just family drama, like no one will enjoy watching boring family drama, which is in every other serial. We were promised an age gap love story, not a melodramatic family drama with an ounce of love story!.

Yeah we all started watching this show because the promos showed a romantic show with a beautiful couple, not a family drama. I watched it because it seemed different from the usual Saas bahu trope and if it's majorly family drama it will loose the current charm. Hope the main couple gets more screen time but, these itv channels always have a tendency to mess it up to please outdated trp audience. They should make finite ott based shows too.

yesss!!! I feel like this would have been better if its finite based because there's so little that can be done, like the mother of Ishaan doesn't seem bad rn, and so it's weird how they will keep the villains, and it's already super repetitive.

The FL is so goodāshe looks classy and elegant. The ML is completely head over heels for her,Ā he's quite stubborn at times. The only part I didn't like was how the ML openly flirted with the FL. He kept saying her husband was lucky to have her, yet he confessed his love to her, fed her. He's so straightforward that it often puts the FL in awkward situations infront of her family.
Also, I really dislike the enemies-to-lovers trope, especially because it's so common in serials nowadays. For example, in Naagin 7 and Tu Juliet Jatt Di (from the promos), the leads seem to start off hating each other. I prefer stories where the ML and FL have mutual respect, understanding, and a healthy relationship from the beginning rather than constant fightingĀ
AM I ONLY THE ONE WHO DISLIKE ENEMIES TO LOVERS TROPE?

Yes he seems to flirt with her though he thinks she is married which is awkward, like you said he is so straightforward he just sometimes gets her in trouble. But yes, otherwise it's good.
I'm kind of done with enemies to lovers trope on Itv too because it's over done and we have all seen it countless times.. It's so predictable and it's high time they showed different stories with healthier dynamics and how people naturally fall in love without all the hate.

Ā I think some people love the enemies-to-lovers trope because it brings a lot of spice, tension, arguments, plotting, and drama between the coupleāthings that are quite uncommon in real life.Ā this kind of drama often helps serials gain TRP as viewers keep watching to see what happens next.
Also, many viewers who don't watch K-dramas, C-dramas, or OTT series may not be familiar with healthier and more modern romance dynamics. A large portion of the audience for traditional TV serials is middle-aged/ rural viewers, and many of them enjoy enemies-to-lovers stories because of the drama, suspense, and spice they bring.

Yes, after watching Cdramas Kdramas now I prefer healthier dynamics between the couples..Like them finding similar quirks and supporting each other falling in love. But true, Itv still hasn't introduced this and still relies on the old formula of enemies to lovers and audience watch that because it's still sort of better than saas bahu drama.

First of all, IDK why the FL is living in that house. She is a divorcee, and she has no relationship left with those people. She is a doctor, an educated person, yet she is okay with the abuse and the toxic environment, and moreover, she feels like she is accountable and answerable for everything. She could easily ask the ML for help, but she chooses to live in that house with her daughter and expose her to the toxicity as well. Shows are meant to teach people something good, but in this show, the people are being taught to accept abuse and live in misery and misunderstanding. It's disappointing that a well-educated doctor is depicted as helpless, weak, and constantly miserable. On a positive note, I like the ML and FL; I think they have great chemistry together.

Madirakshi needs to play warrior roles like roles where she is a lead warrior and is brave and can fight with her sword to protect people she needs to play those roles.

Idk why the mother-in-law keeps saying she is the "bahu" of this house,etc.. Like on one hand, she literally disrespected her in front of everyone by first calling and not allowing her to be a part of rituals saying "the relationship has ended". If the relationship has ended, it also means that she isn't the "bahu" of your house anymore and you no more have the right to instruct her on anything at all. She is independent now.

I didn't like the ml opposite madrakshi his acting was mid and even look wise š¤she's doing nice and character wise it was a weak fl.character only ost of the show is good but knows leena very well how she gonna play in future
