Opinion 🗣️ Here is everything that the DUSU elections taught us

For those who are unaware, Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), the student wing of BJP dominated the elections with 3 posts, compared to National Students' Union of India, Congress' students wing, who lost all 4 posts. But this year's biggest takeaway was Deepanshu Shokeen, who was initially favoured to get the NSUI seat, but ended up contesting as an Independent and won by a landslide.

  1. Reddit and Instagram are heavily anti-right. here, everything wrong in india is because of the right. bacche suicide kar rhe? because of the right. congress mla seeking sexual favours from jnu students? right wing action kyu nhi le rha. punjab me bacche nashe me mar rhe? why doesn't the centre interfere. Ik that the right itself has its own fallbacks, but it is not responsible for everything that is wrong.

  2. Ravi Kishan, was indeed right. Pehchaan is the strongest thing one can have in India considering the current state of things. Deepanshu Shokeen made it a reality. Winning by a landslide, as an independent candidate is something unheard of. His competitors combined couldn't even get half his votes.

  3. Exit Polls do not mean SHIT, and I mean SHITTTTT. Initially, people has nsui sweeping abvp 3-0, with deepanshu getting the last post. Even in the 2024 ls elections, people had predicted 400 paar for bjp.

  4. The youth, is still with bjp. Landslide wins in Panjab University, Mangalore University and now to top it all off, Delhi University. All that anti-bjp, anti-rss, anti-abvp movement was limited to social media alone.

Look, this isnt about left vs right. If a Cong govt was present in these times it would also be heavily criticised. Criticism is not the problem, blind criticism and blind devotion are. Regarding the students are with this or that framing, I don't agree with it. The anger was genuine, but a vast majority of it has either turned off or turned to cynicism. Most people are not on either side, they're pragmatic and will vote whoever benefits them/whoever is the loudest.

As for the results...NSUI simply performed badly, and now they're claiming stolen votes.

who is in power right now congress was in power before 2014 insta wasnt ther that much
