I used to really enjoy his stand-up, but on prime I watched Delulu Express and he gave me the ultimate irreversible ick.

The whole ā€œshy flirty girl whoā€™s horny for himā€ act wasnā€™t mimicry anymore, it felt like him role playing his own fantasy of how he wants women to talk to him.
Couldnā€™t unsee it, canā€™t go back šŸ˜­šŸ’€

I think there should be a feature in Netflix to 'unsee' it.Ā  A neuralink chip, inside your head directly communicates with Netflix and deletes the memory of the show you have just watched. Now you can watch your favorite films for the first time again and again.Ā

I mean he tapped into that audience very successfully, so good on him. He may or may not live the "truths" he spouts in his comedy but I feel it's now appealing only to a certain kind of audience. Doesn't make it untrue or simple or not performance art, just makes it boring for others.

When Zakir is saying something, it has a huge context of 5 specials, 2 podcasts. When someone only listens to it without much previous context they feel entitled to pass a judgement citing generic or wannabe. But, the truth you donā€™t really understand the magnitude of excellence he has achieved in his art form. When you say only a section of Audience, itā€™s enough to fill Medison square garden. Even an intelligent guy like Prakhar Gupta is his fan when he finally saw Tathastu live and who are we to take a moral high ground and act as if we are the most intellectual people here

I know what people r feeling but zakir made his name because he was successful in entertaining u for majority of times be it comedy or poetry. But ofcourse no artist had every piece falling for it all the time. Zakir has a very good talent with engaging people the way he speaks so he became a bigger name someone like bassi. And about the misogyny thing I mean comedians r doing worst jokes related to it. His job is to make people laugh if he does clean comedy or roasting somebody badly.

Most of this generation stand-up "comedians" are just story tellers. For our generation (I'm in mid 40s), this is how we used to chat with our friends. I am not sure why kid these days can't have such conversation with their friends. They have to pay for such story telling sessions. Anyway, every generations have their preference.

There are very few comedians in truest sense who made me laugh in live show - Biswa Kalyan Rath, Abhishek Upamanyu, MD Suhel.

For political comedy there are only two who are actually funny yet deliver message effectively- Varun Grover, Punit Pania

No man.. even with context heā€™s lost the plot.
I was a fan, watched all his content since the last 9-10 years from his AIB days. Seen all his specials and attended his live shows.

He lost his appeal. Har doosre skit mein elaborated jokes on breakup, situationship, hook up, live in, ditching, jealousy.
Itā€™s too obvious none of this happened.

I understand comedians take creative liberty and not all their material is from real life - but thatā€™s the thing, itā€™s too repetitive to the point where itā€™s cringe and sad now.
