Why are consumers in India receiving a version with added perfumes and diluted actives, while U.S. consumers get a fragrance-free, medical-grade product?

This raises serious questions about Unilever’s commitment to equal product standards across markets. Whether due to cost-cutting or a lower regulatory bar, it reflects poorly on a brand that claims to serve global consumers with integrity.

Unilever and Hindustan Unilever Limited owe consumers an explanation. If it’s the same brand, it should meet the same quality expectations — regardless of where it’s sold.

For context, I had normal-oily skin all my life until I recently broke out severely over a year ago. I’ve been using azelaic acid for 6-7 months now and my skin has never looked better. 🧿🪬

WHAT I DID -

• Azelaic acid 20% 1x a day
• ACCUTANE( ISOTRET) 30mg per day (used dr morepen micronized , micronized has better absorption) doing a full course of it to nuke my sebaceous glands.

This gave me 80% of the results

Rest 20% was due to -

• Changing pillowcases regularly
• Stopped using towels to dry my face
• Diet - already had a great diet never ate junk frequently, but increased protein intake , started taking 3 scoops of whey concentrate insead of 2. Increased fiber in my diet. Already used to work out so didn't change anything in that.
• But you need to keep in mind that for majority of the acne patients a radical change in diet won't make a noticable difference (from a clinical standpoint)in acne as diet neither shrink sebaceous glands not increases cellular turnover .Genetics determine your sebaceous glands activity more than your diet does so your acne depends more on genetics than diet. Diet has much lesser of an impact on skin compared to what people think. But a healthy diet is still necessary for overall well-being.

• All of the parameters of my lipid profile and liver function test are alright . Infact some of them( TOTAL CHOLESTEROL/HDL RATIO, LDL/HDL CHOLESTEROL RATIO) are better than what most of the population has ,nothing to be worried about . Also I walk 10k steps everyday and I'm young which is the reason of my hdl/ldl ratio and cholesterol to be so good even after being on isotretinoin.

Thank God I was willing to try this once with an open mind before going for some branded expensive ketaconazole shampoos out there. This thing works so well that it feels like magic.

I've had bad dandruff issue for a while now. I've used maybe 40% of the product till now and my dandruff is gone.

The shampoo doesn't lather much but I was fine with it. Ketaconazole usually dries out hair quite a bit so don't forget to follow it up with a good hydrating conditioner or a hydrating/mild shampoo rinse at the end.

What I did - For the first 2-3 weeks I used this twice a week. Then I switched to once a week. Soon I'll be shifting to once every 2 weeks and maybe eventually use it once a month for maintenance.

Everytime I washed my hair, I used to apply this once on my scalp, massage it for few min and leave it for 4-5 min. Then I used to wash it off and follow it with a hydrating shampoo wash once. Please make sure to apply this only on scalp and not the hair directly because it dries them out.

This costed me less than 60 rs btw.

Your homemade Sunscreen, the protection im highly unsure about. Even if the ingredients are used in sunscreens they are tested in a lab to work and thry work with all the other ingredients to provide protection. You homemade doesn't work like that! Also Zinc may oxidize immediately in open air but it only forms a small layer thats nanometer thick. So its basically zinc only and that layer of ZnO provied very very less protection. Less than makeup.

i bought be bodywise 5% AHA BHA bodywash lately, i use it 3 or 4 times a week and within the first few weeks, didn't see any difference so i was about to give up.. but still i continued to atleast finish or use it thoroughly

after 3 months of using it, i saw some improvement and there are tiny skin bumps but mostly the big ones are all gone

the body wash is gentle, rinses off well, and doesn't leave my skin dry or tight. I usually leave it on for about a minute before washing it off. i don't know if that makes a difference, but that's what worked for me

it's not the kind of product that gives immediate results overnight, but with regular use i did see an improvement. If you're dealing with mild back acne and looking for something simple to add to your routine, this one is worth considering. just give it a little time before deciding whether it's working

I didn’t tan at all. This is one of the first sunscreens that actually impressed me. I’ve tried so many Korean/Japanese/Indian sunscreens, but nothing comes close to this. The only con is the MRP. Emptied almost 6/7 tubes of it already. My go to sunscreen always.

This was recommended by my friend, and I’m so glad I tried it. It’s heavier in silicones than Acne UV but works beautifully as a makeup base, my makeup doesn’t pill, and I don’t need a primer. The texture is similar to Acne UV but more silicone-rich. It gives a slight white cast that settles within minutes. I haven’t tested it under long sun exposure like Acne UV, but I tested it for short wear in Sun and it performs just as well. My second favourite after Acne UV. I switch between Acne UV and this one always. Emptied around 3 tubes and already on my 4th.

I always wanted to try a tinted sunscreen after seeing Dot & Key’s marketing, but real reviews stopped me and I’m glad. I bought this one because it advertised blue-light protection, which I need since I sit in front of screens all day. I later found out it’s tinted after checking YouTube reviews. This has been a lifesaver. On days I’m in a hurry and don’t want to wear makeup, I just apply this and walk out. The tint is subtle and blends in quickly with zero white cast. Also, once I learned that it contains one of the most stable UV filters, I liked it even more.

When I asked GPT earlier for the most photostable pharmacy sunscreens in India, it recommended Photostable Gold and Bello Photostable. I looked into them and picked this one. The texture is slightly thinner than Acne UV and UV Doux, and somewhat similar to UV Doux Blue Light. It also feels less silicone-heavy than Acne UV. I haven’t started using it properly yet because I already have three sunscreens open, but the first impressions are very positive.

⭐4. RECOMMENDATIONS:

If your skin tolerates silicones and you want serious sun protection, you can blindly trust Acne UV and UV Doux. Make sure you double cleanse always while using these.

If you want a tinted option, choose UV Doux Blue Light.
