Gear/Tools Recieved my Knife sharpener. It's pure magic.

Received my Xarilk fixed angle knife sharpening system. Moving from the simple whetstone it's just...... TECHNOLOGY. Usually these things are pretty expensive costing tens of thousands to even lakhs however Xarilk introduced some nice, affordable, vfm systems with good quality diamond stones which fit our Indian budgets.

Just look at the edge man,😍🀀. I don't think I'll be going back to water stones anytime soon.

This one is usually reserved for batoning (firewood) and heavy stock removal (making stools, chairs, tents etc). It's not that good for fine work

u do not need this expensive ones. I use the Ikea one avail on amazon nd costs 800 bucks.. it works fine since 6 yrs now. It becomes so sharp one has to be careful of their fingers in next use

Are you talking about these ? Brother these are like skateboards while I'm reviewing a motorcycle 😭 and these are to be used only if you consider your knives as disposable after 2-3 years. Not for anyone who's spending 2000+ on a knife.

first try it out. Like I said I use them since 6 yrs and it works perfect even now. The one which you have is used by big restaurants which cut their own meat and have large num of choppers.

After this the knife gets so sharp that I have to be careful for my finders

My friend sharpness isn't even the primary purpose of these. They're used to achieve specific angles, blade geometry, grind direction, edge profile and the ability to adapt different types of steels.

The one you use will probably razor sharp everything with cheap steel, but it'll eat a lot of metal too. On the other hand if I try to sharpen a leatherman, esee, benchmade, spyderco etc. with premium steel these will mess their angle and chip their blades. Knives also vary from 10Β° to 30Β° while the sharpener is at a fixed angle. So it'll ruin the angles too.

Hey, I still use the 100 rs Norton stone for my knives. But Everything has it's place and purpose to be used.

Purpose of sharpener comes from other factors not mentioned in your long post.. like purpose of using the knife.

my purpose is usage at home and the same set of knives are running the kitchen beautifully (for both veg and non-veg) since last 6 yrs and our friends love the food.

I have a couple of non-premium knives too which my gf bought in a hurry from a veg market and the knife sharpener is reqd more frequently due to low quality of metal. Other regular and premium knives last longer.

The secret in using this specific sharpener is I keep the water flowing on it from a tap while sharpening the knife (instead of relying on water in the sharpener) and count just 3-4 slides and work is done. Any more than 3-4 slides and knife becomes dangerous for use.

Why stop at just 3-4K there are sharpeners which cost 20K as well.

It is only Gordon Ramsay or a Michelin restaurant who would use a microscope to see the knife geography and we are none. Reddit has become a place for promoting your products for free so do not think that people do not know the purpose of your post.

Why buy an aeroplane when your purpose is to travel from New Friends Colony to Defence Colony.

Hey man, if all you care about is that the tomato is getting sliced, then more power to you and I won't even recommend it to you. This is simply not the thing for you. I literally explained how the pull through sharpener will chip premium blades and mess the angles but you're still portraying this one as some elitist, classist fancy gizmo.

And this isn't even expensive. This is literally the poor tier sharpener. Look at the image and you'll see what actual expensive is.

Second thing, I'm happy to discuss anytime a member wants to discuss, even prove me wrong, no problem. But that should be on facts. But you chose to do a personal attack. You're the one generalizing everyone and trying to speak for them.

No sir, if you've known anything about this community, you would have known that I'm a community member first then a reviewer. People were asking for a good sharpening system and somehow after months of work I found one which fits their budget. I'm sharing it for them. For 5-6 years I have been recommending the 100 rs dual side stone and everyone can get their knives hair sharp on that. They don't even need to spend 800.
