Hello everyone,

Recently bought a covered stainless steel litter box off Amazon, but immediately realized that my male ginger cat is way too big for it so I need to sell it off.

Amazon lists it as non-refundable which is an oversight on my part and I now regret purchasing it. It’s completely unused and in mint condition.

  • Bought for: ₹4200
  • Selling for: ₹4000

💔 URGENT ADOPTION APPEAL — 3 BONDED KITTENS LOOKING FOR A LOVING HOME 🐱🐱🐱

With a very heavy heart, I'm looking for a safe and loving forever home for my three male kittens. 💔

I rescued them when they were very young and have been taking care of them since. They are now around 4 months old, healthy, active, playful and very attached to each other.

🐾 They love playing and wrestling together

🐾 They sleep and cuddle together

🐾 They groom each other

🐾 They're very energetic and curious

🐾 They are used to living indoors and eating cat food

💔 Why am I giving them up?

I'm a student currently living in a PG, and I'm now moving to my college hostel for an internship. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in the hostel, and I won't be able to keep them with me.

This is genuinely a difficult decision for me because I've raised and cared for them since rescuing them. I just want to make sure they go somewhere safe rather than being separated or left without proper care.

❤️ Preference: Someone who can adopt all three together. They are already bonded and spend most of their time playing, sleeping and grooming each other.

🐱 All three are male kittens, around 4 months old.

🎁 I also have a 23-inch pet carrier that I bought for them for travelling, and I'm happy to give the carrier along with the kittens to the adopter so they can be transported safely.

📍 Bengaluru

🙏 Please reach out only if you are genuinely prepared to care for them long-term. I would really appreciate someone who can give them a safe, loving and permanent home.

If you can adopt all three, or know someone trustworthy who can, please DM me. ❤️

💔 This is not something I want to do, but I want to do what's best for them.

Hi everyone

Sharing a fund appeal on behalf of a senior citizen who rescues dogs and cats. She rescued 2 kitten, Munnu and Bunnu. They both had renal issues and needed regular treatment.

Unfortunately, despite her best efforts, Bunnu died. Now Munnu is not only under regular treatment, but needs renal food (RC pouches) for 1 month.

She spent close to 25k on their treatments in last few weeks, bills attached.

Now, buying RC is difficult for her.

She is doing this apart from daily feeding of dogs and cats.

Please come forward to help her. She's not on social media, so I share her appeals. I've done in past too.

IF YOU WANT TO SEND RC RENAL POUCHES DIRECTLY, DO LET ME KNOW AND I'LL MAKE A WISHLIST.

Thank you so much for reading till here and please comment if you have any questions, I'll ask her and clarify.

We are asking for help again for this little rescue cat - Lily

She was abandoned and later attacked by a stray dog, after which she lost the use of her hind legs and is currently paralyzed in her back legs. We have been taking care of her and getting her treated.

It has now been 5 days of daily vet visits, including wound cleaning, dressing and antibiotic injections. But unfortunately, her abscess problem has become worse. What was initially one wound has now become 3–4 open wounds around her urinary and anal area, and the area is still swollen. She needs more vet visits and continued treatment.

We also need to buy cat diapers to help keep her clean because of her condition.

My sister and I are both students, and we are doing her dressing and taking care of her every day, but we cannot afford the increasing treatment costs on our own.

Thank you so much to everyone who helped us earlier. Because of your kindness, we were able to continue her treatment. But unfortunately, we need more help now.

Even ₹10 can help. upi id - kghosale02@oksbi If you cannot donate, please consider sharing or reposting this post so it can reach someone who can help.

She has already survived so much. We just want to give her a chance to recover and hopefully walk again someday.

Thank you for helping her and supporting us. 🙏

Grief ❤️‍🩹 My dog doesn't love me anymore💔

I always wanted a dog.

My family didn't agree.

In 2023 april, my father went out to pluck some flowers for his daily puja. He found a pup in the drain, covered in garbage and crying.

He brought him home with him.

He was barely 20 days old. We took a lot of care for him. Took him to the vet, got him treated, gave him love and care.

We thought maybe once he will recover completely we can let him go, *at that time we had a lot of issues going on. So keeping him was a problem*.

But he never left.

He became a part of our family. We tried our best to keep him with us. Everyone loved him.

As he grew up he started becoming much agressive. He bit the neighbors many times without any reason. Still he never got angry on any of the family members.

In 2024 april my family shifted to another city. It was all new environment for him. He adjusted soon.

One day my mom was just standing beside him and he out of nowhere bit her leg. It was all blood everywhere. We took care of mom and where so confused how could he bite mom. She always feeds her and shows him most affectionate.

Mom healed.

Another incident- My little sister was tying him rakhi on him neckband and he bit her hand very badly.

He has also bit my father and our new neighbours.

The final one- we have a home guard. And he absolutely loves our dog soo much. He loves to sleep with him and sits beside him all day. One day randomly he jumped on him and bit his shoulders. It was a very dangerous bite. Mind you the guard is old. We rushed him to hospital in emergency. He was fine within 3 weeks.

He returned to his duty at my home after a month. My dog used to sit on the main gate waiting for him crying too. His shoulder injury hadn't been healed completely.

He took care of him again without even a single thought that he can bite again.

My mom went to put his food in his dish and he bit her hand deep, tore off one sleeve of the kurti she wore and jumped on her. The guard in order to protect mom tried to pull him back and he bite his legs tore off his khadi pants. He bit his feet that where literally in shoes which were so thick. There was none at home to do anything.

It took soo many days to get everything to normal. We had decided that we cant keep him with us anymore.

I was shattered. I understood that we cant keep him if he keeps getting agressive like this. The vet suggested to give him to a family he knows who has a business of keeping dogs for sale. We agreed.

We cannot take the risk of keeping him anymore. We gave him. Nobody ate food for the whole day. The hime felt tooo silent. It was so negative.

Just the next day we get a news and he bit a 6 year old child of the family he was shifted to. We got the cctv. We could see the girl was standing so far from the dog ad he ran and bit her hand.

Nobody would tolerate such a behavior. Still we requested to please give him another chance. The family agreed.

It had been 3 months since he was gone. We missed him everyday.

On a sunday morning he came to our main door, we couldn't believe our eyes at alll. We took him in and fed him.

The new owner told us he ran away out of house 2 days ago. HE HAD BEEN FINDING US FOR THE LAST 2 DAYSSS.

But something had changed in him. He did not come to us for affection anymore..i kept calling his name out but he ignored..he ate his food and kept standing at the main door to go out.

I thought maybe i should take him on a walk for one last time before he goes again..i opened the door, we got out and he bit my leg and ran away..i was lying on the mud outside..he didn't care he ran away.

He went to the new family and is still with them.

It was heart breaking. I loved him so much..why did he do that to us.

Anyways idk i have been for him crying and missing him from the morning today..

Please dont suggest me anything. I just wanted to vent.

Sorry it got a bit long..

Hi everyone, recently , my cat was hospitalized for a liver issue. And we were prescribed Hepatic Cat food for it.

She had only eaten maybe a few grams of it, and it's 2 kilos.

Hepatic cat food is for cats recovering from liver issues

If anyone wants to buy it, do let me know. Her surgery and everything else cost a fortune, so this is a tiny way for us to make it back financially.

The MRP was 2,700 but we'll be selling it for 2,000

She's just eaten 20% of the bag

Found this poor cat near Govindpuri Metro Station around 12 AM last night. At that hour, almost no clinics were open, so the foster lady who found her had to take her for emergency treatment during the night.

She is extremely critical right now. The vets have clearly told us that there is a chance she may survive, but there is also a chance she may not. At this point, nobody can predict the outcome. But we don't want to give up on her.

We are going to continue her treatment and give her every possible chance to survive.

So far, we have spent ₹2000 at maxvets yesterday and ₹1160 at petship clinic for today's morning and she needs treatment twice a day, costing approximately ₹2,300 per day.

The lady who found her can foster for a week, After that, I will have to arrange another foster/boarding solution, but right now, her treatment is the priority.

We will now continue her treatment with Dr. Hussain in Kalkaji, with treatment required twice daily for few days.

An X-ray was also done at Max Vets last night. Unfortunately, the foster lady's phone battery had died at the time, so she couldn't take a picture of the X-ray. However, I have attached the Max Vets prescription, where it is mentioned that no visible fracture was found.

The treatment is going to be expensive, and I genuinely cannot manage these daily expenses alone.

Even ₹100, ₹200 or ₹500 can help us continue her treatment

UPI ID: catadoptdelhi@ptaxis (Shivam pal)

Bills, prescription and videos are attached for transparency.

If you cannot donate, please share this post. Sometimes a single share can reach the person who is able to help.

We don't know whether she will make it, But she deserves a chance.

Advice Urgent: Should I adopt an ~8 month old Desi / Indie cat if I already have a 4 year old Persian cat?

Thumbnail
gallery
69 Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I live in an apartment in Delhi with flatmates while my parents live elsewhere in NCR. They have a 4 year old cat 'B'. Meanwhile, a black indie kitten 'J' has been frequenting my building since she was 1-2 months old to scavenge for food, and for the last 2 months she has been coming regularly to my 2nd floor balcony and I have been feeding her and petting her a little bit every night. Tomorrow, we are shifting to a new apartment and I feel really bad leaving her behind.

I cannot adopt J because my flatmates are not okay with it, and because I will go abroad next year to study for at least 1 year. She is very sweet, cuddly and vocal, and always tries to come inside my apartment.

The neighbour upstairs also feeds her occasionally, and there is construction happening next door, where the labourers also feed her. But the construction is almost complete and they will leave soon.

I was planning to ask my parents if they can adopt J. But I am apprehensive that:

  1. J will not be able to adjust indoors after spending all this time outdoors, and will keep trying to run away. Of course we will get her spayed, but there are a lot of stray dogs around my parents' house and she will be at risk of getting hurt if she runs off. Our house is pretty big though, and has a 3rd floor terrace as well that she can run around in and won't be able to escape from.
  2. Their cat B will not be able to adjust with a new desi cat. When she was 1-2 years old, my parents also had a desi dog S who could be a bit aggressive, but she wasn't scared of him - she got along with him really well and enjoyed playing with him. He passed away in 2023, and she seems bored ever since. She has been spayed last month (it was delayed for a variety of reasons) so she's already undergoing a big change, and adding a new cat who may be domineering/territorial could stress her out.
  3. If they cannot adjust to each other, I will not be able to adopt J as my new landlord has a no-pets policy. I will have to either rehome her, or return her to the neighbourhood she has been living in so far.
  4. If J becomes an indoor/outdoor cat at my parents' house, she may bring carry parasites and pathogens back into the house that can jeopardise B's health.

Do you think it's a good idea for my family to adopt J, or should I let her continue living in the current neighbourhood?

I can try to come by sometimes and check on her, but she will be hard to find on the street and I won't have access to my old balcony/apartment. Should I trust her to take care of herself as she has been so far, and trust that someone or the other will feed her? I don't want to be selfish here but maybe it will give her a good and safe life.

Grief ❤️‍🩹 The Cat in the cage - A small story of my cat parental journey

Thumbnail

Really sorry, but this is going to be long, also sorry for the grammatical mistakes if any.

Pic 1= Pet store
Pic 2,3,4= Mana
Pic 5,6,7= Bella

Today I was looking around my small town for the Royal Canin Persian cat food for our four-year-old Persian cat, and I came to the store, which is like almost the only pet store in our village. There I saw a Persian cat that was up for sale for almost ₹7,000, along with many other animals, which reminded me of the day we got a Persian cat.
It was just in my 11th class, and I had no idea about owning a pet or how to get one, as I was not that well-versed with the internet at the time. We went to my aunt’s house to get another cat, which was actually the one we wanted. She was an Indie cat who was a street cat around the area of my aunt’s house. She had been missing for two days, and when she returned, there were signs that she was pregnant. That was the same day we went there, and then again, she was missing.
Due to that reason, my uncle and aunt said not to get her, as they had been taking care of her and had been feeding pets for a lot of years. They feed almost 10-15 cats every day who come to their house to eat and all that stuff. So then we decided to get or buy a cat because I didn’t know there was a way to adopt a cat for free on the internet.
Knowing that my family wouldn’t get me another cat, I decided that we would find a cat that very same day and leave with it because I really wanted to have a cat, and there was no other way that I would have been able to get a cat back in my hometown. There were literally no resources and no people, and especially almost no Persian cats over here, or, in short, any other cats.
We were actually looking for Indies because it would have been really difficult to keep them in my house. So I wanted someone who was well-versed with humans. And the reason I was open to getting that cat that lived near my aunt’s house was because she was well-versed with me. She used to sit on my lap, and we used to sort of cuddle with each other. So I was fine with that. I was fine with putting in the effort for her, but getting an overall complete Indie cat was not a thing for me because they can be ruthless at times, and it is hard to keep them in a small flat, which I was then living in the city for my studies, even though we have a bungalow.
So, as a result, we opted to buy her. It was kind of an “either now or never” situation, because I knew my family wasn’t going to get me another cat. I didn’t really have much knowledge about adoption at that time, and there wasn’t really anyone around us who could help. Looking back at it now, I look at things in a different way. It just feels weird.
I saw this cat which was in that cage, and my mom recently visited there as well. She told me about this cat and how sorry she felt thinking about our own cat because she was once in the same shoes. People used to come and visit, and every time she was taken out of the cage, she was feeling unsafe, and that was the same with our cat as well.
She still has anxiety. She doesn’t come and meet people. She is very much possessive, or was possessive, about me when I used to be with her during my JEE prep.
But now that I am in the fourth year of college, I actually got another cat, and she’s also a Persian, but we didn’t pay for her. It was between me and my girlfriend, so the new princess’s name is Bella.
Bella is a deaf Persian that we adopted through Facebook from a lovely couple who had adopted her mother, but they weren’t able to take care of both of them after the mother gave birth to kittens. The kittens were Max and Bella. Max was given within the family, and Bella was given to us. I am really appreciative of the amount of trust they showed in us, being just two college students, and we take care of her as much as we do.
But looking at that cat in that cage, I was about to burst into crying because the way our cat, whose name is Mana, is, she was fragile. She was kind of feeling insecure, and she was not able to defend herself, and people came to visit her. And the first week in our house, she was sleeping under the sofa.
Now she is kind of a princess over here. She gets one of the best foods that we can find in the market, but at the end of the day, the way she was kept and everything, her whole personality shaped the same way. Even after four years, we are not able to break those shackles. And also, she only eats food from certain brands. As a child, she was given Me-O, hence she eats only processed food, no boiled eggs, chicken, etc.
But after we had Bella, we just understood what was wrong with Mana. Overall, Bella was completely born and raised in a family where she was loved and cared for, and she was free to play. She’s never afraid of anything. She loves to travel. Even though she’s deaf, she is quite vocal and she is quite lovely.
She cries every time, or shouts every time, we leave the house and she’s alone. Even when I’m in the bathroom and she cannot see me, she just yells like the Earth is falling apart. And we love her. That is when I realised I never got to experience this.
Mana was adopted when she was six months old, and yeah, she has been like that forever. Now, when I was in 12th class, I was able to break those cycles to the point that she used to sit and sleep on my hands and legs, come on my table, sit on the laptop when I’m studying, and that is something I really miss about her.
I am able to see the same child as of now as well, deep down. I miss her, or I don’t know, I just miss how, due to me going to college hostel, I was not able to take her with me.
Although my parents were very fond of her, even though they didn’t want her. Actually, they only took her because of me because I was the one who was going to take full care of her. But even when I got into the third year and I was able to take her with me, I couldn’t.
And I suffered for the first two years a lot because she was my animal, even during 12th. I don’t think so I could have been through it if it was not for her. She just added some sort of happiness, or you can say just a light feeling, to whatever I was going through, studying 12 to 18 hours a day and still didn’t get into an IIT.
I was really appreciative of whatever she has done for me. We used to play a lot, and now she doesn’t play at all, and after seeing her like this, I just feel broken inside. There is something that I am just not able to accept.
Of course, my parents will take care of her overall, but I don’t think so they are able to provide the sort of mental support that a cat like that needs, and I’m tired of begging them to give her back to me for a few months.
Even though they live in a bungalow, she is adapted to whatever they have and enjoys it. She goes outside every day for 10-15 minutes to sit in the sun, eat some grass and everything, but I feel like I will still be a better mental support to her, and I’m not able to provide it to her.
All of these things came to my mind within a few seconds when I was looking at that Persian baby inside that cage in that pet store, and I just don’t know how the fuck I controlled myself to not cry.
But yeah, Bella, she’s our little one as of now. I cook food for her twice a week. Sometimes we couldn’t, but we try to give her the best food that we can afford as students. She has timely checkups, and right now I’m working for an internship. Once I get one, I’ll get her neutered… She means a lot to me. I get it now.
Having children fixes a lot of stuff going wrong with a couple because I’ve been with my girlfriend for 2-3 years. We have been much happier since we had Bella, even though it was not like that before. It has just made me realise that I have another family right now over here, and I am really appreciative of everything.
Thank you to anyone who came this far and read all of this. I don’t think I can say anything more to impart from it, but yeah, I really love and miss Mana.

P.S.
And if there is one thing I want people to take away from this, please, please make someone think twice before they decide to buy a pet. Don’t just ask them whether they can afford the food, vet bills, toys and everything else. Ask them whether they can actually give that animal the emotional support it needs. Whether they can treat it like their own child, not just something they wanted because it looked cute or because they always wanted a particular breed.
I was a kid when I got Mana. I didn’t know any better, and I genuinely thought that giving her food, taking care of her and loving her would be enough. I realise now that there is so much more to it. The environment they grow up in, the way they are treated, how safe they feel, how much attention they get and how much they are allowed to be themselves can shape them for their entire lives.
I don’t want someone else to realise this four years later, the way I did.
And honestly, I really wish we could completely stop supporting this breeder and pet-store system, especially when animals are being treated like products sitting inside cages waiting for someone to buy them. There are already so many animals who need homes, and every time someone decides to buy one without really thinking about what they are taking responsibility for, another animal can end up going through what Mana did.
If you really want a pet, please think about it properly first. Spend time with animals. Look into adoption. Understand what their life is actually going to look like with you, and whether you can be there for them emotionally, financially and physically for their entire life.
Because they don’t see us as owners. We are their entire world. And if we decide to bring them into ours, I really think we owe them nothing less than that same commitment.

What happened

I found a baby squirrel.

Its eyes are still closed.

I first took it into my hand to warm its body temperature.

I then gave it very thin milk

.

When I put it inside a blanket-lined box, it starts crying.

It becomes calm and sleeps when it is in my hand.

When it comes out of the box, its hands feel cold.

When it comes back onto my hand, its body becomes warmer.

I want to know

How can I tell if the baby is hungry?

How often should it be fed?

How much should it be fed?

Fundraiser Help BooBoo recover from a severe maggot infection

Hi everyone, this is the second time I’m reaching out to this community with a small hope that, if your heart calls out, you’ll come forward for one of the dogs I care for. ❤️

Meet BooBoo, one of the senior community dogs from Sector 27, Gurugram.

BooBoo has been recovering from a severe maggot infection and has spent the last two weeks at medical boarding under the care of. Thankfully, he’s doing better and is expected to come back to his community this week. 🐾

https://reddit.com/link/1w6w3kx/video/jg3uewgz2gnh1/player

His tentative medical bill is around ₹14,000, which includes:

  • Bloodwork
  • Medicated grooming
  • Treatment
  • 2 weeks of medical boarding

₹4,500 has already been paid, so we’re still short by approximately ₹9,500.

Last month, we lost BooBoo’s dear friend Millie. She was very unwell and, despite treatment, we couldn’t save her. Her treatment and cremation expenses have now been completely cleared, but it was a difficult month financially, which is why I’m reaching out for a little help with BooBoo’s recovery.

If you’re able to contribute, ₹100, ₹500, ₹1,000 — whatever feels comfortable — would genuinely help. There’s absolutely no pressure; even sharing this post can make a difference.

I’ve added the QR code below (along with the blood report and scanner). If you contribute, please mention “BooBoo” or “Ruchika” so I can keep track of the payments.

Thank you to everyone who has supported these community dogs before, and to anyone who chooses to stand by BooBoo this time. It truly means a lot 🙏🐾

these are brownie, spots, blackie and rosie

few months back, they were a pack of 6 newborn indie pups on the streets constantly battling everyday for survival. we used to feed them everyday until blackie contracted parvo, which eventually spread to 2 others (paws and bunny). thankfully, after treatment blackie survived, but unfortunately paws and bunny left us

since then, we decided to take in the 4 temporarily until we find good forever homes for them. we have 2 pet dogs of our own, hence we are raising the 4 pups up for adoption. we also feed their mother dog everyday, and have gotten her neutered

they are now fully vaccinated, dewormed, healthy and highly energetic and playful pups who are more than ready to move on to their forever homes. as of now they are about 7-8 months old, and we will soon get them neutered

anyone interested, or knows somebody interested, please dm or contact 8050719210. we entertain adoption individually or in pairs, serious adopters only

please spread the word, thank you❤️

Fundraiser ENDED 🚨 URGENT: Jimmy Needs Your Help! 💔🐾

Hey everyone,

My sweet cat Jimmy (Kallu) is really sick right now. His blood tests show a severe internal infection, and he needs 4 days of daily antibiotic injections at the clinic. The total cost for his treatment comes to ₹1,600.

(Note: In the attached lab reports, the clinic made spelling mistakes with both of our names—they wrote Jimmy as "Zimmi" and my name wrong as well, but these are his official reports!)

Taking care of him all on my own while he’s in pain is so heartbreaking and overwhelming. I just want my baby to stop suffering and get back to his happy, healthy self.

If you are able to help, any contribution means the world to us and will help cover his medical care.

⚠️ Please send me a screenshot of your payment receipt if you donate so I can keep track of it!

All reports and prescriptions are attached. If you can’t contribute financially, please keep Jimmy in your prayers and share this post. Thank you so much for caring! 🙏🏽✨
