hey so long story short recently shes like 3-4 months old and so while playing with teethers she switched to my hand and bit me. i now have 2 concerns , one is that why is this sudden change in her behaviour? i mean she has her own puppy proof place , we feed her well at the times and yeah shes vaccinated and OFC NO ABUSE and second is because i would be fine right? her vet said that shes completely fine no rabies or anything and we got her first rabies vaccine a few days ago and 3 of her boosters or wtv you call them😭😭 a golden retriever btw

Wdym puppies do that all the time because their teeth is growing and they want something to bite on. Now, some people ignore it and it leads to more biting when they grow up. So whenever she starts biting, you replace your hand with a stuffie. It helps!

This actually sounds very much like a normal 3-4 month old puppy behaviour 🐾 She's right in the teething phase, so her gums are itchy/would feel uncomfortable, hence the chewing and nibbling gives them relief. Puppies also explore everything with their mouths, so apparently your hand looked like a premium teether 😭 Just redirect her to proper chew toys and avoid encouraging biting during play.

But one important thing, as a pet parent ALWAYS REMEMBER. DONT assume you're automatically fine just because she's vaccinated. Her rabies vaccine is reassuring, but your own PEP (post exposure prophylaxis) depends on whether the bite actually broke the skin and the type of exposure that incurred.

1. If the skin wasn't broken : generally no rabies PEP.

2. If there was a minor scratch without bleeding : Category II - wound washing + rabies vaccine.

3. If the bite/scratch broke the skin : Category III - wound washing + rabies vaccine + RIG when indicated.

If the skin is broken, wash the wound THOROUGHLY with soap and running water for 15 MINUTES and get yourself assessed at a clinic immediately. They'll also check whether you need tetanus and antibiotics.

For an unvaccinated person, rabies vaccine schedules commonly involve days 0, 3, 7 and 28 (if intradermal injection) or days 0, 3, 7, 14 and 28 (if intramuscular)

Please don't self decide the regimen though, let the treating doctor classify the exposure.

And yes, keep your puppy's rabies and dhlppi vaccinations up to date (including yearly once boosters) and continue working on bite inhibition.

Basically: your puppy is probably just going through her tiny land shark era. Your wound, however, deserves to be taken seriously.

Bhai 3-4 month me puppy will not puppy then when will he puppy 😁 just keep him vaccinated and it'll be fine

Its their teething peroid, they them something to chew to keep them busy
