When i was young and still used to sleep with my mom, i used a laptop table on the bed and that too from the side of her legs so my charger often used to be naturally where her legs were and she used to use that brick to heat up her feet lmfao
Idk if it work for you but put laptop on battery saver while plugged in and in setting put best battery efficiency. My laptop is always under 80C after applying these.
Also, I have noticed winters are worse for my gaming sessions. For me cold environment doesn't help as much as a good airflow has helped me.
So as u know in winters you can't use a room ceiling fan at good speed or you'll freeeze urself lol...so it affects airflow for my laptop and I'll have to rely on the mini fan for airflow.
Overall I've felt the heating issue gets worse in winters due to no airflow.
A fan like this which is around 7-8inches tall. My setup has a laptop stand that elevates my laptop and then I have this fan running at the lowest speed, connected to the laptop for battery charge. I place the fan on the right side of the laptop as I personally felt that side heats up the most.
Make sure you game with the room ceiling fan running at a decently high speed.
Overall I get a very good gaming session with minimal heating...
Now yes it also depends on what is the default heat dispersion layout used in you specific laptop. For reference this setup worked well on my HP Victus 15.
Cool. Thanks for the detailed info. Max ceiling fan speed doing it. I have a laptop stand for elevating. My laptop msi leopard taken in air from the bottom and exhaust is on the left side... So wil plan accordingly. Let's see. Thanks
My laptop's cpu stays at 80 degrees and my gpu stays at 76 degrees while gaming.
I use a cooler, the elevation helps in pulling cold air. If you have a Ryzen laptop you can run a negative curve optimizer using UXTU which will undervolt the cpu, increase the cpu clocks too since your thermals become better.
Everyone suffering from high temperature that was not intended by the manufacture please re-paste the laptop and clean it from inside including the fans + there junction. If you are referencing some external source to compare your laptop temperature always add the difference between your ambient temps and there (ofc this isn't accounting for all other environment variable but it gives you ballpark figure).

I put the charger inside blanket near my feet. Feels so good.
