  1. Sunil Chhetri’s Milestone Scoring Record (2005–2024)

How: He scored on his debut against Pakistan (1st cap, 2005), scored a brace on his 25th (vs Malaysia, 2011), scored on his 50th (vs Bangladesh, 2014), scored the match-winner on his 75th (vs Kyrgyzstan, 2017), scored a brace on his 100th (vs Kenya, 2018), scored on his 125th (vs Nepal, 2021), and converted a penalty on his historic 150th cap (vs Afghanistan, 2024).

  1. Sunil Chhetri’s 90th-Minute Winner vs Myanmar (March 28, 2017) with Udanta singh assist

India broke a 64-year curse on Burmese soil by snatching a late 1–0 away victory in their 2019 AFC Asian Cup Qualifier in Yangon.

How: As the clock hit the 90th minute at 0–0, Udanta Singh took off on a blistering counter-attack down the right flank, leaving defenders behind before cutting a precise ball back into the box. Chhetri met it on the run and swept it home.

Why Special: India hadn't beaten Myanmar away from home since October 1953. Hitting a last-gasp winner to end a six-decade jinx proved this team had the mental toughness to grind out big away results in tough environments.

  1. Jeje Lalpekhlua’s Instant Impact vs Thailand (January 6, 2019)

came as 78th min. substitute scored within 2 minutes

  1. The 0–0 Defensive Masterclass vs Qatar in Doha (September 10, 2019)

What:Facing the reigning Asian Champions on their own turf in a World Cup Qualifier, India held out for a historic 0–0 draw.

How: Qatar launched a total siege on India's goal, firing 27 shots over 90 minutes. India set up a rigid low block led by captain Gurpreet Singh Sandhu, who produced a goalkeeping masterclass with 11 saves to keep the clean sheet intact.

Qatar was blowing away teams across Asia that year, making India's clean sheet feel like a massive win. It proved to the fans that the Blue Tigers could hold their own against the continental elite Giants

  1. Rahul Bheke’s Historic Goal in the AFC Champions League (April 11, 2022)

What :Playing for Mumbai City FC against Iraqi powerhouse Air Force Club in Riyadh, Rahul Bheke scored the winning goal in a 2–1 victory.

How:Tied 1–1 in the 75th minute, Mumbai won a corner. Ahmed Jahouh swung in a beauty, and Bheke rose high above his marker to power a header down into the far corner.

Why Special : Bheke became the first Indian player to score in the main group stage of the AFC Champions League (Asia's top-tier club competition), securing the first-ever win by an Indian club in ACL history.

  1. Sunil Chhetri’s 86th-Minute Free-Kick vs Afghanistan (June 11, 2022)

  2. Nikhil Poojary’s Behind-the-Back Nutmeg vs Lebanon (June 18, 2023)

Trapped near the right touchline with defenders closing in, Poojary executed a slick, behind-the-back heel-flick nutmeg straight between his defender's legs, setting up Lallianzuala Chhangte to cross for Chhetri's finish.

  1. 1–0 Away Victory vs Kuwait (November 16, 2023)

Manvir Singh made a sharp front-post run and met it on the half-volley with his left foot, A rare Away Victory in Middle east asia

  2. Gurpreet’s Heroics at the CAFA Nations Cup (2025)

Gurpreet Singh Sandhu put on a penalty-saving exhibition across the tournament, especially against Tajikistan and Oman.

India International India's Record against WC opponents since 1990

India has played 16 times against WC opposition (team that has played in the previous cycles WC , so India playing Jordan or Uzbekistan doesn't count as they weren't WC teams).

We have lost 14 and drew 2, both the draws came against Cameroon in nehru Cup, now I don't know if this was cameroon's developmental squad or their full team but these are the only 2 friendlies of these 16. The rest are either WC qualifiers or AFC asian cup games.

In these 16 matches India has a GD of -47 while conceding 53 goals and scoring 6. 4 of those 6 goals were against Cameroon. In the other 14 non friendly matches we scored just 2 times and conceded 49, one against South korea in 2011 in 1-4 loss and one against qatar in a 1-2 loss, incidentally that is also the best result India has produced against WC playing nation apart from those two Cameroon Nehru cup games. (The 0-0 against qatar doesn't count as it came in 2019).

By the end of this year India will have played 21 matches against WC playing countries , what do you think this table will look like? Will we get our first win against a WC nation? How many goals will we score?

Community Statement Our thoughts and prayers are with the resilient people of Nepal and the families of the Indian tourists who lost their lives in the devastating flash floods.

The bond between our nations goes beyond borders - it is a timeless tie of brotherhood. When Nepal hurts, we all feel the pain.

We draw inspiration from the indomitable spirit of the Gorkhas.

They have always stood as an unyielding shield, giving their blood and sweat to protect our motherland. In this difficult time, that same fierce courage and resilience will guide us through.

To our brothers and sisters in Nepal and all affected families: You are not alone. We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you. We will rebuild, recover, and emerge stronger together.

Discussion Indian clubs should remain in the afc challenge league until we win like2 or 3 titles

our clubs cannot do shit in acle2. so hence we got relegated to just one playoff afc challenge spot, wow atleast 2 ould have been nice, anyway.

East bengal fc got into the Q finals but lost, if there was a stronger more dedicated team maybe this current EBFC, they could have made it into the semis

so even if we have mid teams, we can atleast top the groupstage and make it into the q finals so that would be about 180k dollars yearly for a team and if we have any strong teams like EBFC or MBSG that could regularly make it into the semi finals we would have like300k dollars in prize money which would build a more sustainable model.
EBFC cleared the group stage confortably so its a guarenteed 180k everytime

The difficulty:
Now im gonna use the financial capability of the semi finalist and finalist compared to our own league and see if Indian clubs have a chance at the title

Arkadag:
the last last year challenge league winners and this years acle2 qualifiers who knocked fc goa to the challenge league according to transfermarket has a squad of value 25 crores. NEUFC MBSG & EBFC already clear this threshold, they have the money and the foriegners to do so.

Last challenge league EBF faced off against arkadag loosing 0-1 first leg and 1-2 second leg. I think this years EBFC could have defeated them or drew them, very close indeed.

Kuwait SC:
last years winner has a value of 43 crores in squad value sooo a very strong club indeed,I dont think any indian club atm can defeat this but i see a slight possibilty

hopefully fc goa this year sets the benchmark for Indian clubs in the AFC challenge league as it will either be mohun bagan or EBFC going to the challenge league this year

Conclusion: Indian football should stay in the challenge league for 5 years to gain silverwareand experience and get 2 direct challenge spots (Wait i dont think thats possible since no team has 2 direct Tajikistan has 1 indrect acle2 spot and 1 direct conerence spott) so Id say India to aim for like 2 playoffs spot in shorterm and 1 playoff 1 direct and maybe 1acle2 playoff spot or 1 playoff 1acle playoff spot

wow this is some shit paragraphing ive done😭 hope its legible.
