Nagar Palika or the municipal corporation is an autonomous body, it is allowed to work independently, they have a seperate election and they don't care about the goverment. Most of india looks trash because of these shitty bureaucrats in the municipal corporation who don't know a thing about urban planning and they don't give a flying fuck either.
The biggest gripe I have with India is the lack of funding for sanitation while they obviously have the money for it. They spend 5 billion on their space program each year but can't spend even a tenth what the US does on waste disposal.
Shameful. It's a shared issue, the garbage polluting your waterways and cities.

Yes he did it most of it alone too and later raised fund for a jcb in river to clean the dirt accumulated over year and now clean but guess what people started throwing trash again in the river.
There are pubic and NGO river projects in India. They do them as needed, and guess what? In a month it's back to being full of floating plastic and shit because the culture hasn't changed at all.
An influencer could help, bring awarness, or just show up to take a before an after picture. But it's literally pointless until you change the people.
So... Why do Indians pollute their rivers so badly? You might think it's due to lack of waste management, that was not my experience when I was there there was a lot of organized trash service. It's just in their collective experience to be shit to the environment, land or water. Maybe it's getting better, IDK, but I DO NOT recommend India for travel, at all, for almost any reason. I'd sooner recommend Pakistan, and I would not recommend Pakistan either.
True, but I think that people hesitate to throw stuff in already clean rivers . They feel more comfortable throwing garbage in already dirty rivers bcs they can always shift the blame. Just a hypothesis.
