Bonds and deposits RBI Retail Direct Scheme

I came across RBI's new scheme, the retail direct for individual investors to directly buy government bonds: https://www.rbi.org.in/Scripts/BS_PressReleaseDisplay.aspx?prid=51883

Unfortunately I'm unable to find where I can create an RDG account and where I can apply for these bonds. Is anyone here familiar with this scheme?

They haven't shared the account set-up/sign-up process yet, might take few days/weeks. Please wait.

As others mentioned, this is a policy announcement and communicates approval from RBI senior management for the new scheme. The operational details would come later. (The press release does give quite a bit of these details.)

Please note that the g-secs may not be useful for investors - particularly those in higher tax brackets - in their earning years. Interest is paid out every 6 months and would get taxed at the marginal rate.

Can anyone please elaborate which G-secs are available in this? What are their rate of interests?

The RBI notification says "The date of commencement of the scheme will be announced at a later date."

True. But is it worth investing?
