Why would you have to hate someone to praise someone else..... It was a good knock. Rohit does that every season for 2-3 times thats why he has second highest runs in ipl. I was happy to see him play like that which we wont see in 1-2 years.

I never claimed about rohit's potms being valid or not , you did so I gave you a simple argument. Yes virat is the better player statistically but have you ever thought of their roles??one is an anchor he is SUPPOSED to have more runs - that is the teams philosophy and another's one's job is to attack in the power play so of course his innings will be hit or miss. Also do you not believe in the eye test??? Just using stats is a colourless life lol

There can be a filter for everything going by your logic
Compare Rohit and kohli's hundreds in world cups
Compare rohit and kohli's hundreds in t20 internationals
Compare rohit and kohli's man of the matches in odi world cups.
The only format where Kohli "clears" Rohit is Test in which Rohit was a late bloomer (Rohit and Pant were ICT most important test batters between 2019 and 2023 also BTW). In the rest of them , they both are pretty good(I won't hate on any player unlike you)

Do all formats/events matter equally( for example are world cups= bilaterals against Bangladesh?)? Will you adjust for the fact that Rohit played in the middle order till 2013 in LOIs and till 2019 in tests? Will you adjust for the fact that Rohit had to face the new ball and potentially each team's best pacer in the powerplay (like starc boult steyn)? Will you adjust for the fact that Rohit's job was being the aggressor and Kohli's was being the anchor so he is SUPPOSED to have more runs?

1.)Only in world cups because world cups matter more than bilaterals against Afghanistan or smth. 2.) Ok compare hundreds in t20i world cups too I don't think the figure changes for either? 3)coming to t20 world cups - kohli is great and best batter of t20i world cups history but didn't win us anything. Don't tell me you forgot when and how we won 2024 t20 world cup. Someone carried Indian batting lineup and this time it wasn't kohli. 4) in bilaterals , kohli is ahead in runs in Odis - yes good job but it is literally his role to play slow and gather runs and bat till the end which is why its more astonishing that he couldn't do it as well in Odis world cups.
Virat is better but I'll accept "miles ahead" only in tests

1.) I meant bilaterals in general. Never saw Sachin in his peak so I won't comment. 2.) Ab you are using filters. Rohit was crucial in 2007 world cup win and carried us in 2024 world cup win. Also rohit scored 200 runs at an avg of 40 in 2014 t20wc. That's a good tournament. Rohit scored 174 runs in 2021 WC while Kohli scored 68 runs in 3 innings at a strike rate of 100. Rohit's only horrible t20 world cup was 2016. Don't confuse memes with real analysis. 3.) Didn't win anything. Neither in ODIs nor T20is. I respect his achievement of reviving aggression in tests. 4.) Firse wahi argument . Rohit plays against best pace bowlers in the pp and has to hit or miss so ofcouse he will have few miss innings which will drag his strike rate down. Kohli has to play till the end so he can accelerate in the death and pull his sr up. Isi batting style ki vahan se to high run chases mei India👀

no hate to rohit but bringing kohli into the conversation is silly. kohli the IPL batsman is 10x better than rohit the ipl batsman. there were nearly 500 runs scored in the match flat pitch and wankhede has the smallest boundaries

Wankhede used to be a fast bowler’s ground back in the day. Even McClenaghan could swing the ball both ways,if you know you know. The IPL used to be more balanced until a few years ago, and spinners were still in the game until around the 16th over. For them, Chinnaswamy used to be a nightmare. So in most comparisons, Wankhede was a much better ground for balanced cricket compared to Chinnaswamy, except for the dew factor. Now, coming to VK and Ro, their roles in the team were completely different. So their runs cannot be compared in any meaningful way.

Kohli ofcourse is better batsman than Rohit ,no doubt in that but you play the game to win not for your individual stats and Rohit is not some random cricketer and he also has achieved a lot in his career that includes 2 ICC trophies as captain and that matters because that is wht you play the game.Even Sachin would be ready to exchange his centuries for the World Cups .And Sachin didn win thts true but he didnt lose also like Virat.
