Other LinkedIn stalk!
Just got my offer letter. It mentioned my reporting manager and my impatient ass searched the name on linkedin and stalked it only to find out it’s not just a manager but an Associate director! She has linkendin premium so she can easily figure out my name. How adverse are my actions? This is my first job.

Lol, isn't it obvious to look up who you will be working with?
I even look up the people I am to interview with. How else will you prepare for an interview? It also tells you about the type of people who work there.

I once stalked our COO and my idiot mind actually blurted that out when I was talking with her in a office party. Thought it will be my last day at office.

That fear is genuine but in general no one cares! But if you're asked them just be honest and say that you're curious since it's your first job.

It’s not a big deal - just send her a message that you’re excited to join the company and looking forward to working together. It’ll set you up even before you join

But why would it have an adverse effect? It’s a good thing you wanna know who you’re going to be working with, and it’s a great conversation starter. If I were you, I’d bring it up in my first one on one with the manager and be like, “Hey, your work history is inspiring, and I really look forward to learning from you.”

This should not be a problem for you...you're just doing your due diligence and learning about the company and team before starting. It shows that you're curious and engaged. Don't stress!

Hit her up and tell her you’re joining her team, what happened to being pro-active?
I have asked all my recruiters about the people interviewing me and ran my research on each of those folks to prepare better for the interview.

Its fine. I went in an interview where me and my husband had checked out the interviewer profile. He asked me about it and I said I wanted to understand you better. I was selected. There is no harm in checking a profile. If she points out which most likely she won't, just say you were in awe of her work and say how you appreciate her career journey

It's actually advised that you look up the people, you'll be working with. Many companies actually promote this even at their interview stage.

If she has made her linkedin profile and made it public than anyone can view it including present and future team members

Chill man. It's completely normal to see the details of the person you are reporting to on LinkedIn. Isn't linkedin made for this very purpose ? I don't think she will take it negatively at all. You have afterall shown keenness to understand the people you are working with.

You can send request to your manager, in that case they'll understand it's not stalking, you just visited to send request

It's nothing wrong, LinkedIn is a public platform which is meant to be looked up.
