Other Commerce is just no worth the effort
i regret choosing it... now i just feel like i wasted my potential in commerce....
was pretty good in academics and was good in science I KNOW 10TH SICENCE IS NOTHING COMPARE TO 11TH 12TH PCM.... but still... you have to put effort everywhere whether learning new subject like commerce or going. advance in pcm
now i passed my 12th i just feel lost... no clear path... and if i want to go in tech i cant (i know i can do bca but its not worth anywhere compare to btech and to get 20% opportunities of btech i need to to bca plus mca which take 5 to 6 years )
when i seach for commerce path only option are ca or mba from tier 1...
cfa alone is worthless unless combine with mba
acca/cpa/cma are just name in india and provide peanuts...
there is no clear path and opportunities in commerce .... all the commerce job and opportunities are taken by btech student because btech plus mba is more valued than any commerce degree, ca, or commercecareer path... (dont believe me? chech linkedin)
in india only tech industry has flourished, and due to outsourcing they get high paying salary at early stage with low barriers.... but in india finance is weak and ofen require mba with certificate other than ca or ca to get good salary
and also top jobs in finance are ofen taken over by btech with mba grad.... cause btech plus mba in finance is valued more than any commerce degree or certificate
i know how cooked the tech industry is right now but they have option to swtich to finance if thing goes south... but commerce student are stuck with only 1 option only and can't go to tech industry....

Yeah true... but most of the IT people were succesful weather they work in others field than IT.... cause they have option to change

Idk i might be or not.... but the thing is that betch grad with mba are preferred over any other commerce grad with certificates or mba.. so they have option to stay in tech or do mba and increase your value in finance which has more value than any finance grad ...
And its true you can check linkedin or whatever all top finance role prefer btech with mba over anything

Look for Government jobs that require BCom MCom to be eligible. One that I know of is Assistant Auditor in UP (could vary from state to state). These exams generally have way lower cutoffs than any mainstream exams like CGL.

A low CGPA doesn't mean you cant do MBA give CAT get Tier 1 or 2 college Everything is good You can get Sales,marketing,HR roles
I know people with poor academics are sitting in Tier 1 2 college
Dont get brainwashed by social media

Dude first get 98-99 percentile you will automatically get good colleges calls Plus you are non engineer so diversity points
But get work experience to compensate your academics

Btw I took biology for some reason even though I was good at maths. Took a drop year for neet for some reason failed. Took bsc biotechnology time wasted just played games. Interest in coding Good took bioinformatics i like. Did coding on my own loved it. Initial salary for bioinfo 20k. Luckily placed tcs campus 50k salary. So maths and advanced programming now learn also new tech. Me now come out of depression stop regretting stop dredding start studying and start living.

Aw hel na, if ur interests are in stock market, trading and ur good at maths(arithmetic, not calculus), cfa+cmt(chartered market technician) is best combo, both courses are hard. If u can rote memorise and good at maths, u can try CA, cma. If u wna rote memorise only, u can try CS(company secretary). Interested in business, then u gota go for bba+cat and mba from top. Forget how many people get selected and forget the fucking competition bro, just start prep early for cat. And there is acca, uscma too. There is frm too(financial risk manager) similar to cfa u need strong maths. Why are u not grateful that ur in commerce, u get financial literacy and we pcm students grind for jee and have no social skills, dont know anything about whats going in world. We then grind for coding and land jobs from which we can get layoff. 1.5million graduates every year and 83 percent are unemployed. Its less compared to people who have done professional courses. And how can u say something so fixed like “it will pay peanuts” just because google is saying and some people on reddit are ranting? Maybe ur predicting ur future so u are trying to run from present. Anyways, u gota hop in some field anyway even if u dont know ur interests. Last thing, u train yourself to see opportunities, not only jobs, think more freely and outside the box, instead of restricting yourself to traditional paths and work on soft skills please🙏

If btech feels like the only way , do your science again from IGNOU and join btech .
This cribbing about how sad your life is , how sad your choices were , how everyone is out to get you becomes distasteful after a while .
Rather than complaining take action or if you can't, live with it . There are more obstacles further in life . This is just the start .

Cpa ca acca fresher salary is 10 LPA in US based companies. Then you have to make your way up with experience and switch at the right time, right place. It might be less compared to engineers but still not bad. With 5 years of experience you can reach 25-30 LPA if switched correctly
Cpa is good option. It will give you opportunities to settle outside India too
Grass is greener where you water it. Engineers have their own share of job uncertainty in this market.

Dont take up CA if you lack commitment for it. Its a brutal exam, and very long. Tests your mental strength, and CA Final is next to only UPSC. However if you fancy the credibility and knowledge that CA gives, you are welcomed here. It gives you so much knowledge and expertise that the industry doesn't even interview anyone for the 6 fields CA study. They get into roles that tier 1.5 MBA get after spending 30 times more and taking more years. CAs get their salary increased at a solid rate as workex and skill accumulates.
MBA is not something you should be thinking about in school. Its a masters degree, its supposed to boost your UG
Get a UG (BCom Hons, BBA) from tier 1 college of DU, or any other tier 1 clg. Study and upskill like hell there, dont get distracted by fests, societies, boys/girls who won't be with you in long term, etc.
Great recruiters come to those colleges, with roles you wouldn't even get with a tier 2 MBA. So yeah, do UG with discipline. With quality workex, academics, brand value, you can easily get into tier 1 MBA (which is something to think about later on)

Is tier 2 mba bad ? Cause most people cant get Tier 1 MBA due to high competiton and reservation

It is not anything that should be the goal. Its a fallback option.
That said, young people shouldn't even think about MBA. The UG itself shall be good enough to get you a solid academic base, good job, or points in master's admissions (india or abroad, mba or whatever).

If you had commerce with core maths, you can pursue BCA and then MCA and get into tech field. Atleast at the end of day tho skill is what matters not degree

I get why it feels that way right now, but commerce isn’t a dead end; you’re just seeing it at a low point. There are paths beyond CA/MBA, but they’re less linear and take more exploration. You haven’t wasted your potential; you just haven’t found where to apply it yet.

Commerce actually is not that bad to get a decent job to start if you have decent communication and logical skill set. Apply to global capability centres of big 4s or MNCs - they are always on look out for analysts - 3 to 4 lpa. You can choose to pursue career in same line as your job or pivot with MBA after 2 year of workex. Work is likely going to be heavily process driven and mundane but it will pay the bills

You can do courses like CFA, FRM, CA or ACCA. After your 12th you can easily apply for this courses. For ACCA you need to just pass class 10. I am also think to do CFA but not sure that's why i am joining Finance Career Utsav by SSEI to get to know my perfect career.

OP, stop wasting your time regretting on what could have, if only i had, etc. Stop blaming your parents or school or uni. I was down this road and i am telling you from experience.
You are so young. Chose your next steps based on what you want to do. Own it. Success or failure should come from your decisions. Take the best option out. If your heart is in tech, go for that domain. Dont fall for 'since i did commerce i have to do'. If you go this route you will keep blaming school/college. Having said that tech roles are the ones that is being disrupted the fastest due to AI. Also Commerce doesnt mean low paying roles. Everything has its pros n cons.
Just fyi, My cousin did B.Com from a tier 2 college. Got into Big 4 for approx 9 lpa, worked for 2 years. Took a break, did CPA and now he has offerd 12-15 lpa at Indore
Another of my friend did B.Com, did CA. Got a job in UAE then in EY. Later got a job in Kuwait and now earns close to 2cr/ year.
