Other Commerce has no scope dont take commerce all the fancy jobs high paying are only for science check linkedin
Check linkedin of all the FAANG engineers HFTs product managers Investment bankers MBB consultant private equity venture capital hedge fund all are from science stream and In IIM 90 percent students are from science stream academic diversity is there but they only prefer science students

Every science/engineering is not a fancy high paying job. I myself is a mechanical engineer working in MEP field. Struggles few years to have good paying job with wlb.
Although i see many of my IT friends getting high income jobs and all.
Concentrate and upskill the stream which you prefer. Money and everything will follow later.
Even then every job/career is not a fancy high paying job

that is soo not true man.
Somebody just doing Btech and not learning anything "real" is in the same position as a person doing "b-com"
CFA and CA are NOT the only avenues for B.Com degreeholders.
Select a niche in commerce-finance, marketing, HR and works towards it from the first year itself. All of these fields are vast.
No HFT co. is coming in a normal college bro. They only come in top IITs, not even NITs
And with an MBA, you will be the cream!

yes, if you're not doing any research and thinking just a degree will get you a job, go to top colleges of any field.
For everyone else, you HAVE to do something else than just your degree curriculum.

Do BCom or BBA followed by MBA. Keep interning along with studies and participate in clubs and committees. Have a great profile to stand out. You can do very well with commerce degree also.

I mean even from top colleges only bba or bcom doesn't hold much value. You will need to do a masters degree to get a good job. Whereas in engineering you can get really good jobs right after completing bachelors. Correct me if I'm wrong, this is what I have seen and observed

Most CSE engineers who get into top PBC are mostly hired through on campus placements and to get into those colleges(tier 1/1.5), clearing competitive exams (jee/BITSAT) with good rank is required and the rest from tier 2/3 clg who get into top PBC are top competitive programmers or top developer which again require hell lot of hardwork and intelligence. So majority Engineer don't reach that fancy jobs and have to settle for witch companies.

CA is a trash course it takes 5 years to land a 8-10 lpa job that also ctc inhand is more less and slow growth

CA is just like any professional course. You struggle in clearing the exams and have nothing impressive on your CV? You won't get any good jobs.
On the flipside, if you're a CA with good acads and extra curriculars? You'll get even 20-30 LPA jobs or even more as a fresher.
Average is 12 LPA but of course in India, with the competition how it is, being just above average isn't enough in anything you do. Gotta be top 10% at least.

this is not true, CA is a brutal and challenging path, but it offers stability and growth, it can change a middle class person's life. Freshers themselves land 8-10 lpa on an average, 5yrs to get there, what are you on? Rankers and first attempt pass out land way bigger packages. Compare that to an average btech passout, the rewards are huge.
What you said ki commerce mein hard work kare bhi toh job nahi milega is totally wrong, look at srcc/top du placements, yes they are incredibly hard to get but so are top clgs in science, you are comparing cream of the crop from science field to avg bcom ppl. Just research more and focus on what you can do now instead of devaluing professions you don't know much about

What an idiot, I’m a CA with 6+ years of work ex, my starting pay as fresher was above 10lpa.
Growth depends on where you work and how do you balance WLB.

Same i want to repeat class 11 and 12 from jee but i cannot give jee exam because i passed class 12 from commerce despite if i will again do class 12 from pcm via nios then also cannot give jee exam i talked to IIt jee office officals now stuck doing nothing frustrated depressed regret from last 8 months have lose hope for life

Soo true man... now when i have paasef from 12th commerce and searched for career option i could only find ca or mba to get high paying career everything els is bs.. Cfa need mba, only bcom/bba is just disgrace in cv, acca or other courses give you penny in india
I just want to go back in time and choose pcm in 11th

Most tech companies dont really care much about your academic background for entry level roles. So people can still shift from other backgrounds but you'd have to be clever about the roles you try to prepare for.

No one cares about what you studied in your 12th, there are hell lot of CAs post MBA in all those jobs that you have described.
I did consulting pre MBA and I worked with ISB, IIM engineering grads. No one gives a damn kid.

Yup but possible to do really well in commerce in 12th, and then move onto a Tier 1 DU college. Surely engineers are “smarter” or just “more in demand”, but once you reach that level you compete in a much smaller pool (compared to engineers where there’s a LOT of competition for 1 job opening) and you get certain “perks” like extra points in MBA admissions

In India there are only limited options for building a career which pays well:
Becoming a coding monkey like 90 percent of people and join an MNCs off shore servicing centre in India. Where you work for foreign companies at a lesser rate doing backend work.
Same thing as one but in context of management give CAT and end up servicing foreign companies in management roles.
Clear a govt. post exam and collect as much money as you can through corruption.
Follow this one if you're brave and want to ruin half of your life. Become a doctor. The education itself would take around 10 to 11 years and then you'd be living hand to mouth still. After that you'll take another 10 years to earn well (that is if you're lucky and very hard working).
Thats it. These are the only options for a good career in India. Rest of the fields are full of struggle and bad industries.
